Coming along nicely, will be a super addition to your vintage collection. All you need now is a vintage boat to go with it. 😁

Look for “The Penn’s Old Outboards”. They will probably have the gas cap. And if not they will probably help you find it. I’ve bought parts from him, he’s a good guy to deal with.

Hey....its very helpful to see you go through this process. Im trying to get an identical one going. Ive got spark and 60 psi compression. Its still not running but its coughing a bit. Im guessing i have a fuel restriction in carb remaining after the cleaning. Its somewhere between the needle and reed valve. Not really sure how to get in there to clean it further? Guess ill check again tomorrow. Some helpful stuff for the next guys doing this......i used valve lapping compound on the needle and seat to stop the same overflow you had. Like a dummy i used my drill to spin it and ended up snapping the needle. Luckily i was able to solder it back together resting in a groove in a block of wood. The suction tube from impeller was loose in base. I found a piece of clear hose about the right outer diameter for base and snipped a 1/2 piece off. I drilled inner diameter to fit the suction tube. Was able to use this like a gromet to get a nice tight seal for increased water pressure up the tube.

Thanks for the comment. They are cool little motors. I need to finish polishing and then reassemble everything.
