1940 House. What I've have been doing with this house during the Covid-19 lockdown.

This is what I've been doing during the Covid-19 lockdown. Unfortialy I'm not able to get my cameraman during these times so I thought I would show you what I've been up to and a sneak peek at the front house that was built in 1840. This house is going to be a gut out and replace everything.

Yeah it's kinda strange. Has a 14" round hole in the concrete floor. Last time I opened the door there were two large black snakes just waiting for me. That's why I didn't open it for the video.

Very interesting all the way around... Start w/backhouse before moving to the main home. You do like a challenge - don't you?? The small brick outbuilding from the main home - what is really inside of it? I kind of think that perhaps @ one time that may have been a "pump house" where the water was pumped up into and then into the main house as well as possibly shared with the smaller home. I believe the small extra space on the main house with all that glass was used as a breakfast nook so to speak. This has been and will continue to be interesting to watch and see how nice this all comes out to in the end with each home.

I re-watched your video I think that guy was a stonemason the original owner that little square building with the 14 inch hole in the floor, I think you just found a real fancy outhouse. you know what they say built like a brick s---- house in your case rocks

nice job! I'd say tear down the stone out-building and re-purpose the stone for one of the fireplaces. looks like you have your hands full for a while!

You know, I did make that video like two weeks ago on this house. But I had to be the cameraman as well and it didn't come out well at all, so I never posted it. Tell me, what part of installing soffit vents would you like to know about. The whole thing? Because I didn't do the soffits in the back of this house yet..

Thanks, old 60s rancher that has ridge vent and two gable vents but no soffit vents was going to install the 16x8 vent grills but was looking for advice , afraid I’ll accidentally cut into the joists or rafters

Get rid of the stone building. It's to small to do anything with and is in poor shape. It's not in the best place on the property either. I'd tear it down.
