1941 Buick Super 50 Phaeton convertible sedan, the first opportunity in 70 years to own the #1 judged Buick in the world! It's believed to be the first Phaeton built as well as 1 of only 467 U.S cars built that year, less than 1% of the 377,428 cars Buick produced in '41! 5 year, no expense spared, photo chronicled with 1600 photos, 1000's of receipts totaling a documented $220,000! Restoration was done by the #1 Buick authority in the world Bill Anderson and the entire process is authenticated by noted Buick historian Terry Dunham. Judged one time, scoring a 394 points out of a possible score of 400 (99%) by known authorities Buick club of America and the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America). This Buick also garnered both Gold and Senior AACA awards, almost unheard of for any automobile. Talk about show detailed driveline components, painted grey for the first production cars ( later they became red) Freshly rebuilt 248cid "fireball" Dynaflash inline 8 cylinder with twin down draft carburetors, rebuilt super smooth 3 speed manual transmission, freshly rebuilt and detailed rear differential. Original color coded wiring, still retaining the Generator equipped electrical system, its engine compartment detailing is world class. Mirror finished in its correct Carlsbad black paint, show waxed and detailed, great looking red (pre distressed) leather interior with seating for 6. Correct coded tan cloth Stafast convertible top w/ red piping. All new triple plated chrome and polished stainless trim, restored and working Tube type Sonomatic AM radio, working windshield wiper system, restored 3 spoke "Banjo" style steering wheel, great looking engine turned dash trim, fully restored array of gauges including 120mph Speedo-Amps-Water and Fuel gauge. Even the trunk was not only classy, its restoration is beautiful with two tiered shelving, houndstooth mat and original date coded 1940 spare tire! Color matched correct 16" wheels w/ pinstripes, wide whitewall tires and polished center caps. All the descriptions of the most spectacular restoration in the world are still second to how this car feels and the smiles it evokes when she rolls down the road. Great acceleration, super tight chassis, rattle and squeak, its grace is recognized by every passerby with a thumbs up. This is really the way to buy a collector car, the restoration funded by someone else and then own it for just about half price. These are considered the next "Duesenberg "in the terms of cars to appreciate quickly, it was also the last 4 door convertible built by GM. Also keep in mind that World War II was the next year and vehicle production virtually ceased, again just another notch of rarity. Get yourself not only a great investment, but a great car to show or just drive.
