how do you tell tdc on a motor with the heads on & still mounted in bike? Trying to set valves for first time for me.

short phillips screw driver. don't use a straight blade screwdriver because it might brake off in the cylinder. when the screwdriver stops going up you are on tdc. make sure you are on the compression stroke and not the overlap stroke. that would be when air is blowing out of the plug hole. tatro

it is just a regular big twin motor stand but tedds cycle makes a 45" motor stand if you want one that fits. tatro

Hi KT , did you want to confuse him , I know that its his motor ,you should of asked him , as he knows everything ! not like you from working on these motors for a living !!! how to adjust the dwell , and what is the condenser really for ! and he spent some time hiding from you , while you were pulling down the heads , With a clicker .he was . looking for something totally abstract instead of listening and watching , thats what you did when you Dad said !! i will show you only once ! sorry for a late comment but i like what you have done last year .

dreadful, how can one expect a decent rebuild with no acknowledgement of couture . Does the fellow not know that for spanner (wrench) swinging at any time of day calls for plus fours, Harris Tweed sports jacket and a cravat ; the rebuild is surely doomed.
