I’m so glad I stumbled on this video… the strips of wood and hot glue template is absolutely genius…. I’m definitely going to use this trick in my floorboard replacement… thanks!

I like the old school more by hand fabrication. Too many times I find fabricators get some money and then the CNC shows up in the shop and game over...your projects are still in the COOL stage in my book. Well done Jason!

Thanks Mike, I agree although I have a lot of respect for that machinery.But I enjoy watching the people who have limited tools and limited budgets and see what they can accomplish.I like ingenuity.Thanks again for being here.

@@royworks28 oh yea me too for sure. I don't blame them for upgrading tooling...I just lose interest personally when there is too much automation.

When I grow up I want to do that metal work. That looks pretty cool. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the fun. :-)

Thanks Mark,I would definitely recommend it, over the years I’ve saved so much money and had so much fun doing my own work. Some of the work can be dangerous, So always think safe and get training when needed.I was lucky I went to a Tech school . Thanks for being here Mark.

Hey Roy Nice work on the floor pans. Never seen the wood frame trick but it sure works. Making the trans cover detachable was a smart move. I did the same thing on my 27 Roadster because the rest of the floor in welded in place like your jeep will be. That cover was hammer formed to fit the bumps and bulges on the trans and just looks so much nicer than sharp corners and straight lines. Be Safe and Well
@royworks284 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it might have sharp corners but I’ll give it a shot.were you able to shape yours.I’d be curious how you did it. Thanks for being here. Hope you stay safe also hopefully this is almost over

Roy, When My Trans cover was built for my roadster We just marked circles that needed bumped out or marked areas that needed to be rolled and just worked it until it fit the way we wanted it. Because it has no welds on it it really looks good !

Looks great! My Land Rover has access panel in front floor cover, makes it very nice when something goes wrong and we know something always goes wrong🤣👍

I am getting ready to start the work on my 1945 ford floors and will be copying the idea of sub frame hat channels first followed by sheet metal floors!

That sounds like a cool project, I hope that way works out for you. So far so good for me.
