I'm really glad that people take these old vehicles and restore them. I hate to see the old cars and trucks turned into hot rods.

I owned a 46 flat deck Jail Bar with the 21stud 85hp and a 47 wellside Jail Bar having the Mercury 24 stud 121hp. I loved both those trucks very much. They where very easy to work on and i learnt a lot about keeping them going. My first Ford was a 39 v8 4 door sedan. They were also tough as hell. Thanks for the memories. Nice truck.

Thank you guys. This brought back the memories of our family of 5 traveling cross country in 1944 in a 1939 Ford flathead V8 pulling a "house" trailer from San Diego Ca. to Westport CT. Though very young, my memories never faded.

Oh I really am kicking myself ,in high school in 1978 I was 18 and I brought a 46 Ford just like this one even to the 3 door heater in the cab and the wood rails, but the foolish teenager I was I sold it. Oh I miss that truck still to this day . Thanks for the video

I totally agree. To hot rod a "work truck" is a travesty. You have a historic work of art and are a historian yourself.

man, lil henry sure has a lot of story behind him! talk about a labor of love and a ton of work. very cool truck there Jeff. That guy seems to work great on camera, too.

They have really researched the truck extremely well. They even made a brochure that features the two previous owners....the first one being the owner of the "Shopping Center" store who you see featured on the doors in the rusty pics. They have done their best to preserve the history of the truck. They are extremely knowledgeable owners, to say the least. Wayne was very comfortable on camera and definitely has the voice for it. Thanks for watching Murray!

Wow, such a wonderful video. My father left me a truck like this, green paint and all, and swore it was a 1946. I need to get it out of the barn and into my shop and get it going again :)

My dad had a 1947 one ton, the key locked the toggle switch and the steering wheel on ours, it was green w/yellow trim too until our hired man rolled it over and the body shop painted it gray.

Very fascinating information sir! It makes me happy to see vehicles like this in their original glory! Its like looking inside a time machine and it lets me see what my own 46 could potentially look like one day! I want to keep mine as original as possible but mine is a 1.5 Ton Duel Wheel truck and unfortunately i believe they are equipped with the infamous Split Rim "Widowmaker" wheels. So i am torn on what to do.

Looks like a fun a classic ride. Like the story behind this truck. Excellent videography. Ford Greenfield Green is named after a road near the Ford Rouge Plant, Dearborn, Michigan.Greenfield Rd. Meth or fact? Keys / Wow. • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
@RamblinAround7 жыл бұрын
Sounds plausible that that is where the paint color came from. Glad you liked it Gary, we appreciate you watching!

where would the vin be located at - beside firewall and glove box?
@RamblinAround6 жыл бұрын
Try the top of the driver's side frame rail, right by the front crossmember. It also could be stamped on the transmission bell housing above the inspection plate hole.

Mr. Blackmon, I almost don't want to ask due to the sentiment you have put in to the truck, but I have been looking for a '46 ford. Is yours for sale? If not, do you know of any body else who is selling either a project truck or a cheap restored? I live in Charlotte but am willing to take a 'little' drive.
@RamblinAround7 жыл бұрын
You can find out more about the truck on their website at: www.lilhenry46.com/
@quinnsforza86577 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Is the truck for sale? I could not seem to find it on the website. And it does not need to come from Mr. Blackmon himself, do you know of any great deals or just in general, a 1946 Ford pickup similar to Lil Henry that is for sale? I don't care to to much about condition, but I would love something mostly if not completely rust free. I would like to know if you know of a project car or restoration for a reduced amount that is for sale? Thank you!

Great Truck restoration. I have a 1943 Ford 1.5 Ton flat bed. Very rare to be a 43 during the war as ford did not sell trucks to civilians during the war years. It started life as a fire truck and ford was allowed to sell to emergency services. I have had mine for about 4 years and want to start restoring it. I am the third owner and it is in pretty good condition. How much did you pay for the truck and how much did it cost to have your’s restored? I hope you don’t mind me asking that. I paid $6,000 for mine. Hope to hear back from you.
