I taught there from 91-98. Many hours in the cub. Glad to see Damian still at it.

You have some great videos. Dedication to the art! I haven't seen all of you in the Cub, but it I keep wondering, what engine that is and the horsepower?
@GabrielHernandezAviation3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! That specific cub is a 1946 J3C-65 with a Continental A&C 65. However, I’m not mistaken it may have an 85 horsepower upgrade kit on it. Thank you for watching!

@@GabrielHernandezAviation : Truly amazing that the airplane seems to pull both of you along just fine with less than 100hp ! I'm thinking about a tail dragger . . . can you tell? Thank you my friend in aviation.

happysawfish out of all the time I’ve spent in the air, the most special was definitely flying the cub with Damian! The hour in the Stearman was right up there! Check out that video if you haven’t already.

Can you tell us what camera setup you have. Is it connected to the mic and headset? Damien is a great instructor. I have a few hours training with him.

Curtis Johnson, DDS Hi Curtis! Thanks for stopping by! Damian is great! I look forward to getting back up with him this summer! I am using a GoPro headband (set the angle with the GoPro app, or you’ll be filming the ceiling or the floor...haha) with an in-line headset adapter/splitter to a mini digital recorder. mypilotstore has the cord, and I just got a cheap recorder that does the job. That way I don’t have to have comms baked into the audio of the GoPro.

I forgot to mention, syncing takes a little tech savy with this option, I usually do a 1, 2, 3, check and clap to sync both audio. In the helicopter I just use the low rpm horn check on startup.

Looks like they think they own the airstrip. We have some of that in SC too. It’s sad. Everyone has to learn

Low volume country airstrip. It's not a problem, and he's a regular. Gives his students in Andover some variety and cross country destinations. And during TFR's like this.

I couldn't finish watching. I found the helmet cam to be too much movement. Started to get sick watching. Good topic. I'm training in a Champ now.
