Now May 2022, I don’t know how far you have got, the a good repair for the “A” pillar missing nut, is to make a patch for the backside using some 16ga metal, cut into a square to fit, scribe the holes and weld on new 5/16” X 16 nuts. Vise grip into place with the “C” clamp style, then plug weld in 6 places. Some call it “Rosette” welds, but this will give new foundation and strengthen this area. I bought my first vehicle at age 13 (I grew 6” a year earlier) but it was well spent $150 in hay money on a 1965 C10 Apache. It was a maintenance vehicle used to transport diesel, oil and waist off job sites where Cat’s, Grader’s and Earthmovers built buildings and shopping centers. The wood floor was original but soaked with diesel and oil. A red short bed, 283 cu in and a power-glide trans. It served me well as these were tractors with cabs & heat, farmers where the target market. The 65 retail was $2,890 with the V8 & automatic 2-spd on the column. Red with Fawn grey-silver dash. I love these old trucks and after 4 decades of working on other peoples, a 67 fell my way for free. Enjoyed watching the process as they don’t make hinges now that will last 62 years!
