My dad and I had a 56 International 5 yard haul truck that we used to build about half of a lake in southern oregon. Finished it with a 74 mack after we broke the crank of the IH in half. Like watching these family projects. Subscribed.

A good machine shop should be able to recreate that nut with relative ease if that replacement gives you any trouble, and is that an old excavator thumb built into the boom frame?
@Edward-Thaine Жыл бұрын
this is also an option! and yea thats a excavator thumb but its just sitting up there, came with the truck. Was too heavy and the guy we got it from didn't wana move it haha no idea what were going to do with it

what you could do is get the Axle doctor to come put new style spindles and seal or just change back to the old style or change the axle out

Personally I dont like the look of super singles, they just look odd and in my opinion they cant beat the look of some duals

Nice truck! I would work on getting a nut/seal surface made if you can't find one. It would be shame to soak those new brake shoes with oil.

Try a military surplus out of Salt Lake City Utah see if they got anything off an old military truck that since they strip vehicles military vehicles, they probably have something in stock for your hub seal

Bus Grease Monkey @BusGreaseMonkey Talk to this guy. He reconditions old Greyhound buses. They use many of the similar kinds of pieces that you are dealing with for that differential retainer with the stripped threads. He's on KZbin also.

This track would be could be great if you took the blood that Bloom off stripped the inside and put a whole bunch of new pieces in there. Get rid oflved in crazy gears. Put on a nice new frame LA d lights drop. A nice new comes in there. Twin stacks stacks a nice new like a orange paint. Job job LA d's new boom. Everything on that truck would be cool

You should have wet all of the brakes down. Because older brakes contain asbestos.

Now that was some shameful work leaving everything full of crusty rust. I use a wire wheel attachment on a grinder and a drill to knock the rust off old cruddy parts then paint them with black primer to prevent them rusting, and rub grease on moving parts and pivot points

“My Dad, the voice of reason”… while I love to hear that personally, have Dad ditch the “flip-flops”… you can be the very best at your craft, but you loose 90% of your credibility the moment we see those “piggies” lol
@Edward-Thaine Жыл бұрын
😂😂 ive tried to get him out of those flip flops so many times but for some reason he just likes them! Haha hopefully next summer he wont take then out!
