I owned a 1962 Cadillac Hearse. It was a lot of fun. I put bucket seats in the front and then two more behind the front ones with a full console running from the dash down between both sets of seats. Still had a good six feet it the rear, I could lay down and not touch the rear door. It was a big heavy car.

As a new subscriber, this is my second video of yours that I've now watched. The other was the gutting of the skanky interior and the Ajax rub down. I like your attitude and I think I'm going to like your channel. Your wife also seems like a lot of fun and it's so nice she willing to contribute her time, effort, and credit card to the project. What I don't like is the suspense of where you're going with the hearse and having to wait for the next episode, and the next, and the next. Oh well..... I reckon I'll follow along and see what happens. That is one handsome looking land yacht, that looks to have a lot of potential. I love all the windows. If only it had a little more headroom, it'd make a great camper. A double wide coffin ⚰️ shaped mattress would be totally kinky. Lots of dark maroon, real diamond tufted velvet upholstery would be fun. Just weird thoughts. What I always like to say to other KZbin channels, that I enjoy...... Thanks For Sharing.

I know Mabels engine is not the original 331 with the 4 speed Hydramatic. Looks like a 472 from here, but the only time I've seen the inside of an engine look like that was when it was used as a boat anchor! How could that happen to an engine mounted in the car? It would take lots of water and decades of sitting. Saw a rusted through valve cover in a junk yard once but that is rare. haha.

So it's now way cheap for flat glass to be fitted, but big job thou 😢 But when your down under🦘🦘🦘 windscreens for 1953 Cadillacs aren't cheap & a 5 1/2 inch chop 🪓😳 would make it way expensive 😮 Good luck & keep powering mate 💪🏼🚀

@@TheoldironworkshopI'm in Clarkston . Just north of Pontiac so I know the Flint Plant. My dad was an engineer for Ford. Hey, I have a 55 Dodge C3HA8 1.5 ton stake truck besides my 47 ProStreet Custom Merc. To house it I got one of those shelter logic tents and layed a plywood floor down. They're a quality tent and with the wood floor it makes a nice enclosure to work and store a vehicle at a reasonable cost. Mines 24 x 12 and was less then fifteen hundred with the plywood floor. You should think about one. 🤔

I would weld the new floor under the chassis. “You wot mate, are you mental Idris?” Yes, but I threatened it on the race 4x4. It’s not just some very handy storage, but also a very easy way to keep the chassis clean. Even better on this build would be removing the need to crawl underneath it :o) * Makes room for some silly, like a grave yard scene under a clear floor?

Now I can lob bolts and clips in there as I work on it and they can’t fall off down the road. :D

To make things even stranger. It would appear that they were in the process of installing the engine into the car. But the car itself does not appear to have been in a flood. I think I would’ve found debris underneath the dashboard and places like that. So, perhaps the engine was pulled from a flooded car and they discovered it was bad and gave up. I have no idea. Landau bars were not invented for hearses. They originated on horse drawn carriages called landaus that had convertible tops.
