The Ford engines used frequently in British Allard were 30 hp ex Bren Carrier engines because they had lead indium bearings not white metal. The engines were mounted way backin the chassis because they started life as hill climb specials. The LMB front axle conversion gave feed back one minute and went dead the next. They were all hairy cars and even the M types could give a good account of themselves on the open road in the late sixties. Great days, thanks for the memories!

I hate to correct people but the gentleman said car is all original@3:55 the heads should be block letters not script . I have built hot flatt engines since the 60s.I understand you dont want 70 year old alum heads as they have electrolisis issues. but a super car it is
@bradcarroll37194 жыл бұрын
That my very well be true for the man buying or scrounging for the heads, but you have to take into account that Vic Edelbrock Sr. was one of the guys who actually built that motor, so he could've done something unusual. I am in no way saying you are wrong, you obviously know flatheads, just that ive seen stranger things. If it is my money......I'll go with your theory though.
@danconlan644 жыл бұрын
@@bradcarroll3719 As I have many old sets of block letter heads on my wall . you dont want to run these as the white buildup inside is not good. the script letter heads are just a newer version. I do prefer Navarro heads.& they reproduce them again.
