We're taking things almost all the way back to the beginning of Fender with an excellent 1951 Nocaster! This one was refinished around 25 years ago, with plenty of player wear added since. A few other things have been changed with this one which the Boone's will get into before handing things off to Nick for a demo through the 1961 Epiphone EA-12RVT Futura we took in recently.

Form historical perspective this guitar is treasure, but what is really genius about tele-strat’o thing, that engineering was so out of the box, that we are playing same guitars till this days. Hats off to Leo Fender and Bill Carson

I wonder what that epi would sound like with some modern speakers in it. Lot of speaker distortion.

Great. I'd have been 'dirt' guy too but was hoping for some James Burton type stuff, like Hello Mary Lou. Only to hear the guitar more than the amp but still a treat !! Thanks for posting and 'good luck' to the lucky so and so who gives this a home !

Hello there, I wonder if the original '51 Nocaster circuit has been preserved, or has been modified to a more current "standard" type. Can you tell me, please?

I know you mentioned the electronics all being changed-out and the pickups being changed. But, does it still have the quiet/dark circuit in the first position (neck pickup)? Also, why the hell didn't you post the price at the end of the video, like you used to ???

With such a good axe I expected a better tone… Maybe the amp choose or amp setting were bad… What a shame.

The amp is clearly to blame. Not the most pleasing breakup sound...

Wonder what Duncan pickups it has, particularly the bridge.

The vintage mark is on its way OUTTTT.if the pickups hav been changed,it’s been refinished and other parts not original then it’s not collectible,it’s a player.roast assured a “cork sniffer” will dive in an overpay for it

What makes you think the vintage market is on its way out? The “Boomers” are dying off and selling off their collections, but there are plenty of us Gen-Xers who are stepping up to take their place. We have at least 20 more years before we get to where the “Boomers” are today. That being said, if the vintage market going out results in a sharp drop in prices I’m all for it and I hope you’re right. I also agree with you that all the things you listed definitely should reduce the value of a vintage instrument. However, some instruments such as an actual “Nocaster” are so rare that those things still aren’t going devalue it as much as it would something more common.

@@charlesbolton8471 Well stated. I’m 42 and love vintage instruments and have several I cherish. I know many younger guys that also covet and own vintage stuff. It’ll always be cool. The coolest, actually.

@@charlesbolton8471 well Charles why don’t you jump on the 51 Nocaster with changed pickups, tuners, regret, body refinish and neck, changed wiring.but I’m sure you will still see value in it for the low price of $40,000.
