1955 DeSoto Firedome- First Start in DECADES!

I think you will find that 1955 Desoto's were 6 volt positive ground, so the fuel pump may not have been wired incorrectly. Of course you can run the starter on 12 volts, but you are probably going to burn up the bulbs , voltage regulator and coil, unless they were changed to 12 volt previously. Hope this helps.

Amend the title. This is not a 58, and put the correct 6 volt or 8 volt battery in.
