1956 Gasser part 1. Overview, and some frame issues.

In this video, I give an overview of the 56 Chevy gasser project. As with anything, I recommend test fitting and measuring. I found a problem that will need to be addressed.

Instructions would help a lot . But it's not your first rodeo and you'll soon get answers to your questions . It's a good looking front end stub but doesn't measure square . Really nice 56 two-door post car . Will be following the build series .

I would but a small block with the trans and install the crossmember in and on that setup and driveshaft so it can be in the correct stock location. I looked at thier site at it shows a different motor to frame mount than what you got. I would make the changes needed to the firewall or the headers might be to close to the tires if you move the engine forward plus the front of the engine maybe to close to the radiator support. At least that is how I would do so for my car if I still had a 56 Chevy. Good luck but you do great work so it should be no problem.

This will be fun, although I don't like the idea of cutting up this car. oh well, I guess I should have bought this car if I wanted to have a say. LOL At least it's not blue/green.

Wow. I sure hope the quality of the straight axle assemble is of a higher quality than the instruction sheet! No question about needing to measure and check everything, numerous times, to eliminate as many potential mistakes as possible. This will be an interesting modification and I'm certain you will figure it all out as usual. Hope for the best but expect the worst. Good luck!

Why can’t you find dedicated spots on the frame by the vehicle splice in your new front frame all you need to do is make sure that your length out to the ball joints for length and cross measure that they’re square who cares about the overall length being off a half of an inch at the very front what’s important is that the wheelbase is correct and square I mean I’ve clipped a lot of cars I’ve been doing frame work for 30 years you know yourself you can push one side inner pull one side out your cross measurement out to the ball joints Hass to be on and if it’s square then you’re lying to be good out to the ball joints what’s the wheelbase you said 115

Cars that were drag raced with a modified front suspension. They added a straight front axle with leaf springs to raise the front of the car. It made the car have more traction.

The older original gassers had an A arm front suspension with heavier front coil springs and ball joint spacers to gain extra lift .
