With all that complicated custom restoration repairs, I would have substituted the straight steering column with a safety steering system, reinforced the cabin, doors, floor, and hardtop to upgrade the body to today's crash protection standards. Everything else was a wonderful remanufacturing and restoration work. You have a unique 1957 restored Chevy Bel Air. Thanks.

Had an exhaust leak in one of my 57 BelAir's back in '73. Pulled it into the shed, popped the hood, dropped the left side header, slipped in a new gasket, bolted it all back together and was off for a night's cruising. It's a whole different world today.

Funny you should mention too much power Keith, I have a story that I neglected to put in the video. I’m running around 10psi of boost. I screwed it up to 12psi and took the car out and it scared the crap out of me. It fired the tyres in first and second, and nearly speared me into a tree in 3rd. I drove it back into the shed and wound it back down to 10psi. I found my limit that day! Thanks for watching and sharing your kind words mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍

This brings back memories of my 57 Chev that I bought in 1968 while in the service. Before being shipped to Vietnam, I drove it home from Tustin, CA to W. Long Branch, NJ to put on blocks till I got discharged and home. Loaned it to my brother for his HS prom and he unfortunately destroyed the R/rear corner panel backing into a telephone pole. This was after I spent BoKoo money to have it painted Emerald Green. Ended up selling it to his "shop teacher" for peanuts. Oh well, I thoroughly enjoyed your restoration.....EXCELLENT WORK. My only negative comment is the Gold........never liked it on any car as an accent.

What an awesome build. I love all the cool features and details you put into it. My friend from high school (late 1970's) had a 1955 Chevy that we used to work on all the time we weren't working on my '69 Camaro. We were too impatient to drive them to put cool power windows and illuminated buttons in them. I remember using a milk crate to sit on to go cruising a few times in the '55 Chevy because there wasn't enough time to put it back together before we had to leave. That's the beauty building a car as a mature adult. Again, great job, thank you for sharing. Ok, what's the next project car ....... :)

Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words re the 57. I lived in Canada for 25 years and Australia for 30 now, both British colonies. I’m no linguist but possibly a connection there 😉👍😎

What is the engine specs? The induction / fuel injection looks like 1990's LT-1 , but it looks like it has a distributer ( no OptiSpark ) . It sounds awesome. I'll have to rewatch it to see if I missed engine info / cam / etc. Did you get a chance to dyno it ? Stunning car.
@JafffaAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Keith, the car puts a smile on my dial every time I drive it. The engine is a 350 4 bolt main block and that’s the only factory item on it I think. The crank is a scat forged unit, H beam rods, dished hyperutectic pistons, custom ground crow cam, with a Holley intake and fuel rails, and bosh injectors. I’m pretty sure I ran through this in the video somewhere. It was running 600hp on an old tune, it’s probably a little tamer than that now because I dialed the boost back after scaring myself😂. Question again mate😎👍

@@JafffaAdventures thanks for your reply. I have a stainless steel line and thought about contact type for the jamb and the door.

That sounds cool. How do they work when the door is in the open position?
@dave58332 жыл бұрын
@@JafffaAdventures they disconnect when the door is closed the connect. Amazon has them for sale in almost any configuration.
@JafffaAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I see. So that means you cannot open or close power windows with the door open, and you door speakers cut out if the door is open as well. I think I prefer my method where it’s live full time. Thanks for sharing and educating me. Cheers😎👍

@JafffaAdventures Жыл бұрын
I custom fabricated the mounts for the seats Jeromy. In addition, I cut the foam down on the rear seats, and built the foam up on the front seats. I do have photos but am on the road for another few months so do not have access to my archive drive. Cheers

Where did you learn the body work and the mechanical work you must have a background of that type of work you pulled off some great stuff. I'm a retired Master Technician and helped build many hotrods for Reno's Hot August Nights. If you haven't gone to it you should put it on your bucket list

Thanks Robert, I have not been but I live in Australia so don’t get over to Nevada much (as in I’ve never been there🤪). I did my studies in Microbiology and Chemistry and learned body and mechanical work in my back shed making lots of mistakes. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍

Does the dual antenna contract and retract?
@JafffaAdventures8 ай бұрын
The drivers side does, the passenger side does not but only because I put a dummy antenna in there. You could install a power antenna if you want both to retract. Cheers👍😎
