Happy for you. My dad had the exact car in Canada. Scrapped it for $200 because he couldn't find brakes for it. I was 5 yrs old he still talks about it today at 85 yrs old.

Great job! We appreciate all you did and working with our timeline! Seeing how happy my dad was these past few days was so worth it. He had to get in and tinker around with everything and has watched this video several times with a huge grin on his face. My friend has the exact same car! A black '57 Belair 2dr hardtop that he hasn't driven since march of 1968 when he blew up the bored and stroked Pontiac mill. His kids are working on it now, bringing it back, too.

Wow! You guys did an awesome job on my brother’s car! It was so awesome to get to ride in it again and see him behind the wheel. I was 15 years old when I first drove it and my brother taught me how to drive that three on the tree! I’m now 65 years old. Seeing his face light up was priceless. Thank you for getting the car ready so quick so our family could share the memories together.

I use a stamp punch to number the caps on the rods that way if your going to reuse the rods all of them will be labeled. If you can find the plastic pop bottle crates that the pop trucks use they work great to keep the pistons in their position without them being mixed up

From 1964 to 1972 my father had a 1957 Chevy Bel Air 4-door . Same color as that one with a black and silver interior. Engine was a 250 Ci. 6 . With a powerglide on many transmission . He had two outside mirrors located on the front fenders

That tin round piece that goes on the crank in front of the timing gear is for oiling it's supposed to fling the oil to the top timing gear and to keep the chain lubed up Chrysler use the same set up on their engines too.

I thought that your could only get a 4 speed on a late model year 57 Corvette. You couldn't get the 4 speed in a regular sedan until 58.

Not 100 percent sure. This one is a 3 speed on the column.

At time stamp 4:31 the gentleman stated that you could get the "Black Widow" with a four speed. The first four speeds were dealer installed ion 1958 and factory installed in 1959. The only option in 1957 was a three on the tree for 1957 Fuel Injected. This of course does not take into account customer installed four speeds,@@IronHorseGarage
