What a treat to see that one year-only 350 B-engine under the hood! This was the precursor to the 361/383/400... In my opinion, 1958 was the pinnacle of Exner-era Chrysler styling.

A real beauty of a car. My Dad had a '57 Plymouth 4-door &: later s '58 suburban wagon. Both push button autos. He would let me drive the wagon on my morning paper route sometimes. I was 12 or so. First car I ever drove.

Three speed column shifters have somehow gotten a bad reputation, seemingly mostly from those who have never owned one. I owned several in the distant past and loved them as it freed up the floorboard. There's an apparent mania now for speed in screeching little cars. I wouldn't want the overpowered engine in this Plymouth but that's just a matter of taste. There is no substitute for a convertible. With my convertibles the favorite time for me, here in hot Texas, was to drive top-down at night, especially in the country. And this beautiful car would be perfect for that! Thanks again, and best wishes from the Houston/Galveston area.

Well, Lou he did it again. This is the exact same car. My father bought used when I was a teenager and the very first car. He gave me a set of keys to with strict instructions. I was never to drive it unless it was around the neighborhood and I let him know about it, if memory serves me, I always thought it was a 318 because of the way the valve covers looked. They did not look like this car and he said it was a 350 Dads never had the dual antennas on the back which I always liked as a kid, but he did have the push button transmission, which was park reverse neutral Drive and low that was the first car I seen the speedometer go a little past 120 I had never been that fast in a car before dad was somewhat of a leadfoot and being how the top was down I remember I could see the carpet kind of floating because of the air pressure good old lad was no wonder. I had the cars that I had later on in life. Thanks again Lou growing up. I never seen another one that had three on the tree. They were either two speed push buttons or three speed.

Craig, I agree - it would look better without the fender skirts. I think most of the 1940’s and ‘50’s cars look better without the skirts, with a few exceptions.

How did he start the car without pressing on the clutch

I had to look it up. It wasn't until 1963 that Plymouth and Dodge offered a 4 speed. A Borg Warner T10.

Those gentlemen are from Quebec, Canada. They’re not immigrants - they’re visitors. They drove down with this great car visiting the Chrysler car show in Pennsylvania. If you look at 5:01, you can see the Quebec license plate on the back of the car.
