Another one of my ALL TIME Favorites Lou! At age 9 Dad pulled up with a silver 4 dr Flat top Bonneville and came in the house and said to all of us kids and mom we're going for a ride stop what you're doing. Back when you would actually stop because of a new car in the family. And the car wasn't brand new. I remember the little star speckles in the carpet and the head liner like she said I loved loved that car and actually Cried my eyes out when dad sold it. The only car I was so emotionally attached to. I loved the dash lay out too. It was a juke box. Beautiful.

You know it was cool what she said at the beginning, you really do remember these cars that you saw as a small child. I remember a green 1959 Chevy that used to exist behind our school when I was in about first grade. I was born in 1957 so that vehicle would have been about five years old.These videos will live forever!

Everyone always says the 1960 Pontiac didn't have a split grille when in fact it did. It was a very narrow split but a split nonetheless.

My Dad bought a used 1959 Catalina in 1961 for my family in 1961.........fantastic power house,especially cruising on the German Autobahn!!!!!!!!!!!!Sorry we got rid of it in 1963.

And it just got better and better through 1966 until corporate politics reached into the styling process and designs became more mundane and lost the brilliant path the brand was on.
