Great old machine guys - just imagine how much lumber that thing had hauled in its life. Cheers

No way ! I wanted to buy this skidder when it was for sale and I called right after you. Ended up buying a treefarmer C4 in Gatineau, Qc. Found your videos about your Treefarmer, went on your channel and saw this video and I Instantly recognized the skidder ! We are probably pretty close from one another. You have a beautiful collection. Cant wait to start working with my C4 ! Enjoy

There's something special about the raw sound of an old V8.
I have a 205 that's been all gone thru rebuilt engine right to winch. Love these old machines I'm in new Brunswick

I had a 2010 tigercat cable skidder years ago and a D6 in the logging company I contracted for, in the grand scheme of things I found that the D6 was much better suited for the job. That machine could do everything the tigercat could and what sold me on the idea was the traction factor and not having to ever worry about popping a tire...ever.Both were equally comfortable and easy to use but the D6 was just more versatile.

Those machines are worth their weight in gold to a poor logger. I hauled at least one load to town every day that it skidded an my truck was a long logger. I never ran light unless the timber was so dry that I couldn't pile any more on it. Pocket bearing in the main transmission is bad.... find another said similar trans and throw it in or just replace bearings it needs as there still available from national bearing. They take a while to move in low range but high will keep up. I am sure that you could fix or find another g.i. winch to run on it. All the driveshafts are worn out but just make your own out of scrap drive shafts. No balance needed as its not a highway rig. Keep those tires aired up or your going to rip the sidewalls out of them. He can run a skidder but he can't operate for sour chili.

0:41... The old Timberberjack has been updated with a later New Process 435 or 445 transmission. Same transmission as my C5C and easy to find parts for. A previous owner probably gave up trying to find parts for the original T98.
@rollingupmysleeves2 жыл бұрын
Makes sense - i think it is the 435 with granny low and the aluminum top cover. It doesnt stay in 2nd gear but would be nice to have a spare if i could repair it if needed.
