A great hack i used to do with my toploader in my 63 Futura...F100 11 inch flywheel and heavy duty clutch and pressure plate...Gave me all the launch i needed and never again had issues with this settup !!!

Amen brother Frizzell. I'm 82 years young and have a $3000 '84 Mustang 5.0 that is basically stock. I bought it from a friend for $1000 and spent about $2000 in new brakes, Holley 650, MSD ign. BBK headers, used 1.6 roller rockers, shocks and struts, etc. It had a converted roller motor and 5 speed T-5 trans. I go to my local track in Dinwiddie, Va. on friday nites for test and tune, and have a ball. She runs 12.6s at 108 mph. with 3:55 ? gears in a stock 7.5 inch rear. Love it. Drag Racing has always been about fun & bragging rights. There's no big money to be made anymore. By the time you win a few bucks you will have put waymore money into your vehicle then its worth. Most tracks pay out something but its more for those serious diehards who are dedicated to long hours coming back every weekend. Its not a free hobby by any means.
