That's actress Janet Waldo doing the voicover for the commercial. Ms. Waldo started as an actress on radio and TV and then did a lot of voiceover and cartoon voice work. Judy Jetson, Josie of The Pussycats, etc. She also did the voiceovers for several Barbie commercials.

WOW! All the dolls in this commercial are also had painted prototypes whipped up at Mattel. The 1964 Skipper was mass produced with side-glancing eyes while all the pre-production versions shown here are looking forward! Some of these prototypes have surfaced over the years and can be found in various publications!

My sister had a Ricky doll!!! I loved him!!! I feel so bad, we moved several times and the dolls were either lost or left behind. I remember we had Ricky in his original box! I can kick myself!!

a reply to BarbieCollectors: ok, I know that Kelly is bout 4 so Tommy isn't her boyfriend but I mean the "pairing" Barbie has ken and Kelly has Tommy, so who does Skipper has? and there is a Stacie doll- which looks like the old Skipper! and bout Barbies age, she started as a teenage model- but look at her body shape- no teen has goodies like her, so I always took it as she is over 20

Barbie-Ken Shelly/Kelly[the baby sister] has a "boyfriend" Tommy and I know there are a few kinds of Skipper dolls, [I had 2 kinds], it started from this cute girl, now there more adult- barbie size looking today-she grew up! so who is her boyfriend? plus there is a Stacie doll- which looks now like the old Skipper doll Barbie-25-30-40 year old[what ever] Skipper- 16-19 Stacie- 12-16 Shelly- 4?
