Omar, that really looks sharp. I think I would have glued some insulation to the roof first, but that's me. Keep sending us updates on your progress.

Omar you are a surgeon. So looking forward to you completing & cruising this 428 XL. Our family owned a new black 4- door 64 HT Galaxie, thanks to my urging & a Ford brochure that showed the black on red 4 door HT. Unfortunately it had only the mediocre 352 motor... I begged for at least the 390 to no avail. Later after my father had passed away, I was able to help /talk my mother buy a 66 428 2 door LTD. She never knew it, but I held the local speed record for the 21 miles to the next town, with two "speed curves" for 9 minutes 20 seconds. Later I came back to the town & special ordered an Acapulco Blue 69 Mach1 Cobra Jet from the little Ford dealer in the little Saskatchewan prairie town of 2500 people. 😀Yes, I am that old!

Haha that’s really cool, sounds like you have a lot of memories with these now considered classics. I’m sure they don’t cost the same as they did back then either haha

No problem! That glue works really well. A big big tip is to use pencil if you’re drawing the outline. If you use a marker it will seep through the fabric!

I know this video is 2 years old and I don't wanna sound like I'm "monday morning quarterbacking" but after doing some research come to find out they sell a headliner tacking strip. Summit racing sells a roll of 3/16" x 11/16" x 15' semi-hard rubber strip and goes for $25.79. It's a multi-purpose material so it can be used for different applications.

Great job on all the work you have done. I was wondering if you could tell me the order for the headliner support rods go in. I have a 61 fairlane and when I got it the guy had already to removed the headliner and the bars
@OmarRamirezGalaxie2 жыл бұрын
You will have to install them by themselves first to make sure they all reach the very top of the roof. Then try it out with the headliner and install the rods in the holes and pull the fabric to see how it looks. Sort of have to do it as you go.
@brandonmiller6387 Жыл бұрын
Very helpful and it looks great! Did your rear window trim require any special type of clips or did the holes in the trim match up?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie Жыл бұрын
I believe it’s all held in by screws. Once I start on the interior I will install it as I need to order the package tray and paint it. I’m sure I will show it once I get there, hopefully soon!

@OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
Got the sail panels from jegs, and material on eBay. I have the links if you go In the description

They all go forward?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie Жыл бұрын
From what I remember, when you pull the fabric all the rods will be slightly pulled forward as well. It’s important to have those two small hangers on the last bow so that it won’t flip the bow and keep everything tight
