In Part Five/Week Five of our 8 week transformation series on our '65 C10, we're laying down the infrastructure that will get our 5.3 LS ready to run. This week we build our Flowmaster Exhaust, wire our engine with our Holley Terminator Max and get our driveshaft sized up among other things. Dave Welch is a classic truck Specialist and he's got plenty of tricks for nearly every project on your classic Chevrolet or GMC Pickup! Dave, thanks the mention of grounds & dielectric grease. The GM ground terminals in the 80's came with little twisted spike to dig in past paint, grease etc. I keep a large pile of 4 sizes of "Star" washers on hand. Maybe my OCD, but I double ground all lights, modules, doors to body, even the end frame of the alt where negative diodes produce ground. Plus pickups uniquely have a bed that a ground with good service access as inside LED's are popular. Great job & your team!

Bad grounds are the root of almost all the electrical problems we run into.

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV On the old truck tail lights, I clean and solder the bulb socket to the housing because it is just pinched-stamped. 50+ years take its toll and seen as a voltage drop test.

Next time when you build one of these build a; lexan hood, cab floor lexan, and A lexan Floor on your bed. Make it clear so everybody can see all the beautiful work you've done below. Okay only maybe 10% serious on that about the lexan. But the work is fantastic finish and fit and seen in the video. 100 extra bonus points about mentioning the magnet in the gas tank. Which isn't really fair because you made some other great points I should be mentioning also, I saw it back brace and you did not look to be in near as much pain. That's a great thing hopefully that becomes a norm less pain for you. But I know it can vary from day to day and sometime even minute to minute. The change in weather especially temperature but don't forget the barometric pressure please have it when it changes as well. Back in the day you could have sold posters of your build just what you have already done even. Look forward to next episode.

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Thanks, trucks always love trucks. Although 67 to 72s my favorite era of Chevy trucks I like the 60 to 66 a lot too. Nice build.

Awesome work, but…. What happened to the custom driveshaft crossmember you guys sell? Wouldn’t that make sense for the exhaust?

Yeah, or the cutouts we sell would be an option too, but we simply didn't have time to do anything extra and the bits we had worked anyway after we flipped and flopped them around a little.
