If you are doing a factory headliner, you do need the windshield and backglass out to install it. If you use our ABS headliner, you don't have to remove them and you gain 2 1/2 inches of head room.

I learned so much in these 2 videos. Question 1: do you install the vinyl headliners before setting the glass typically. (haven't watch the headliner one yet).When I removed my glass I saw it under the rubber gasket. Question 2: they make 1 piece plastic headliners? did not know that. thanks for the great info.

The black Mustang has our rear spoiler and end caps on it, Next week we will have a full fiberglass deck lid. The front end is our own SR nose.

Did yall use a caulk 'rope' on the inside prior to the exterior sealant? Yalls way seems to be WAY cleaner than others I've watched. Appreciate it!

In smaller print at the bottom it says mineral spirits. Actual paint thinner would DESTROY the paint job. We have some video of the black car we will be posting.

Thanks for the great (two-part) series. I have watch carefully and read a bunch of your comments below. Just to quadruple confirm - am I correct that the total number of sealant (urethane) beads you use is three? First bead (seen in video part 1) goes onto the rubber seal after it is installed onto the windshield. Second bead (seen in video part 1) goes onto the car before windshield installation. Third bead (seen in video part 2) goes into the seal (around window) after the windshield is installed. With only those three urethane beads (and nothing more) you are achieving a water-tight seal, correct? Thanks again!!!

The urethane ONLY goes between the gasket and the glass, the rest of the sealing is with liquid butyl.

Oh I forgot to ask. Did the black mustang have the california special trunk and encaps. It looked a little different from the front end viewpoint. It looked like some other type of little trunk lid lip.

I only seal between the gasket and the glass after it's installed.

Does the urethane stick to the rubber gasket? Mine did not. I actually have to pull my window back out as my clips need to be pulled out more to grab the moldings. I will be a pro at windshields soon enough!

Good video and getting ready to replace my windshield in a 66 Mustang the only thing I question using urethane sealer between the glass and the gasket I watched other videos and read were urethane seal is not recommended any place on this type of install were you use it on the outside between the glass and windshield gasket . This video is about 7 years old you still stand behind and recommend using urethane sealer ?

Yes, I do. The urethane is a stronger seal rather then a gummy liquid butyl. Modern vehicles all use urethane.

I see a lot of guys adding a tone of sealant to the top of the outside gasket it looks like a big mess, I see you only add the sealant between the glass and the gasket, I won't have any issues with leaks? Also did you add stink black strips to the inside gasket? great video!

I only seal between the glass and the gasket after it's installed with urethane, NOT bedding compound.

Hi , I used your vidéos for mounting my windshield and back window on my 65 Mustang FB , do you know urethane coumpound doesn't stick on EPDM weatherstrip , only on glass , métal , plastic. It makes a perfect fit between glass and weatherstrip but doesn't stick ( just a little ) on EPDM It is annoying or not ? You can try .

The urethane will stick fine between the glass and gasket, try breaking it loose after its cured for some time 😂

The trim goes on after the glass is in. You would never be able to rope it in with the molding installed.

The glass went in perfect the wire trick worked perfect allowing the gasket to pull over the windows edge and seat into place...plan to add the 3M sealant and add the trip.

@@kevintimothyshields you can clearly see in this video as he puts the trim back on that there is no sealer on the outside where the clips are. between gasket and body. the first video he applies sealer on the inside between glass and gasket. both sides need sealer or it will leak.

In video 1 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKOagaWfpM9sjtE) he applies two beads - one on the seal before putting the window on the car, the second on the car around the clips. In this video 2 he applies the third bead - urathane into the window channel. Scott are you advocating for a forth bead? (Genuine question - not trying to debate you, just wanting to understand what you are saying is all - thanks!)

Shouldn't you also seal between the gasket and body? That's how it was done at the factory. I'd imagine you'd get a lot more water through that area than you would between the gasket and windshield.
