I like the wire idea the best. My question is the gaskets that everyone sells. They crack, split, basically they get hard with “UV” light in a short time. I think a simple rubber inner tube is in my future. I will visit a truck stop repair shop to see if they got one that is shot. They work on spring loaded pliers as well and they hold rivets to and a washer back up. Thanks for another helpful tip as I would just as soon fix it before it happens!

@@ItsTheChad71 Thanks buddy, my god, how long has rubber inner tubes been around? They are a unique blend of a rubber compound that may never see sunlight, but come with a powder-like coating. It think these inner tube rubber would last years without cracking, bleeding black rubber down onto paint or shrinking. Like everything, they have gone up in price but that is mostly the stores parts department profit margins. My step-dad, grandma & grandpa work at a Goodyear Tire plant for decades. I have been thru it many times at their “Open House” events. If people seen how tired are made one step at a time, they would never trust them again! But the same could be said for flying a commercial jet liner. Peace Brother & best wishes 2022!

Fine And Dandy - but It won’t bring back the Chrome . Most Cases New door handles = New Chrome 👍🏻

This is one thing I'll be buying replacements for...while I could fix my driver side handle, it's usually the driver's side because it gets a lot more use, the chrome on both are pitted & it costs more to rechrome than to just buy a new one...I'm not doing the patina look, I've driven it patinaed the whole time I had it before setting it up & I've driven crappy looking vehicles all my life, I want one that looks new & nice for once...

Most of the time of a truck is set for a long time, the only problem is the Springs rust completely up and then the button falls to the inside, all it takes is new Springs
