Awesome car. Pontiac had some of the best iconic cars of that era. I always loved the Pontiac. They had some traffic engines and body styles.

My mom and dad bought a '66 Bonneville station wagon new in '66, I'm the youngest of four and born in '65. Fully loaded, blue with a black vinyl roof, it was the car that we took road trips in, mom would pile us and another mom and kids or just more kids in every Thursday and drive about a half mile to Mc Donald's to get dinner. My older siblings and myself would take the wagon for a drive around a few blocks at very young ages when parents were out in dad's car for dinner or whatever. So we all learned to drive in that car. It was my first car when I got my license and my friends and I would stick our surfboards in it or on the roof luggage rack and drive a mile to the beach or we'd take a drive to other surf spots in SoCal. . Dad had rebuilt the motor and made it a stroker with some nice heads and that station wagon could move out even with six or eight people in it. It got hit by another car in '85 and that was the end of "The Chief" as my mom called it.

I love full sized muscle, and always wonder the story behind “Unicorn” cars. The color combo is a little unique for the time, but really is stunning. Vehicles like this fire the imagination. Wonder if it was initially bought to tow, race, hustle bootlegged whiskey, or simply by an older gentleman that liked to cruise fast? How did it survive without getting modified with speed parts, and beat on the street in the 70’s? Pre-internet, someone likely knew this was a real gem. I really find that the stories behind the cars are as interesting & valuable as the cars themselves.

I didn't think that 2+2 could be any more beautiful until I saw that incredibly attactive Blue interior ! Now I have the interior color picked for my dream Pontiac - I have a few 65 ,66,67 Catalina ,2+2 ,and G.P. parts and project cars with 4 speeds and '65 and '66 3x2 set ups and i'd like to find a rust- free '65 or '66 Catalina ( or G.P.) to build a 4 speed tri-power car OR sell a bunch of my cars / trucks and try to find an original rust-free 4 speed 1965 or '66 Catalina 2+2 or Grand Prix .

This is subjective because it’s just a matter of opinion, and of course beauty is in the eyes of the beholder; but in my opinion, and there’s some exceptions, but overall I think 1967 was the pinnacle for Ford and GMC automobile styling. I didn’t include Chrysler, because I think 1968, 69 & 70 Chrysler models were sleeker than their 1967 & earlier designs. But the biggest design change for GMC over their earlier models was 1959, and I don’t think that statement is subjective or just a matter of opinion. Because it was a complete body style change for all of their GMC models, that ended the baloony look, and was the start of the low sleek linear style. They were more futuristic looking, and 1959 GMC models were some of the most beautiful cars ever built. But of course that statement is subjective and a matter of opinion.

I agree and appreciate your opinion. The only thing I would mention is the design changes Chrysler came out with in 1957 were way ahead of the others and so interesting and cutting edge. It is amazing how the styles changed and evolved from say 57 to 67ish on a yearly bases. Great Post Sir
