My 66 GTO had the 428 H.O. engine with a 4 speed manual 12 bolt 4:10:1 posi. Original engine was swapped out. Best thing that ever happened. Outstanding performance & never a breakdown & good mileage when driven proper. Loved that car. Best one I ever had. Pontiac used to make some awesome rides. Too bad it's all gone.

I found one of those in a used car lot, back when it was probably nine or ten years old, blue rag top, don't remember if it had the same rims, I talked my way into a test drive...man I wanted it.... but I was only 15 years old and I couldn't get dad onboard with the deal, think I remember they wanted three fifty $ for it, had some light whiskey dents but it was worth it. Never seen one in the wild sense. Nice car and hard to find 👍👌🏁

I had a convertible version of this car, but in Canada our 2+2 was a sporty version on the Parisienne model. Our Canadian Pontiacs were built on Chevrolet chassis and drivetrains, and our 2+2s always had bucket seats, console, fender "gills" and "V8" fender emblems.

I had a Canadian Parisienne 2+2 with a 385 horse 427 automatic. This was ‘84. I bought it out of a snow bank in someone’s front lawn for &400.00 and took it home, cleaned it up and sold it for $800.00 Took 3 months to sell it even though I lived on a road close to a drag strip. At the time no one saw the value. The car was super solid, buckets, power windows posi and an air cleaner with a chrome lid and stubby 4” X 11” snorkel. Good working car that could really lay rubber down.

You really appreciate how rare this car is when you break down the cost options...That $226 for the 4 speed is equal to about $2100 The 2 plus 2 option for $420 is about 4k today...the 428 option and aluminum rims for about $120 translate to $1200 each The power windows, console along with power steering for around $100 each would be a $1000 each today...totaling around 11K just in options and that isn't all of them just the big ones. We look at window stickers and see how cheap it was...but that car would be about 45K today with the 15K worth of options it would have had

4:25 I'm in Canada 😊 But I'm not old enough to have witnessed the uniquely Canadian Pontiacs of the 50s and 60s when they were new. Besides their Chevy frames and engines, they sure had some weird model names AND engine monikers. Astro Flash, Econo Flame, etc. I just read that early Parisiennes could even be ordered with the Corvette Ramjet fuel injection! I had a 63 Impala 2D HT project car in 99 and apparently up here they came with a stronger "Canadian" frame (possibly just a convertible frame?) Anyway, cool car!

They made 428 for GTOs but here's the thing about it they were experimental motors. My brother got his hands on one back years ago when I was just a little kid He pinned it into a 68 Chevelle the car was an SS 396 red with the black stripe He stripped that car and painted it jet black put the 428 experimental motor down in there in place of the 396 Rumor has it my oldest brother without driving the car add a dual quad hemi cuda pulled up next to him They were getting it on pretty good from stoplight to stoplight I think my brother might have missed the shift or something about the plug wires one of the plug wires popped off at high RPM add the motor took a bearing spin But that is the factual it was an experimental 428 from the factory for the GTO
