We really don’t have many here, especially in the part of the country I live. I sure miss when we had a lot of them many years ago.

Knee deep in poison ivy and snakes on the edge of a cliff. That's some dedicated parts grabbing! And the salvage yard is the second happiest place, the garden/pond is first. Excellent camera work Heather and Slade made good use of the BFH. I'd like to watch how you get the dash out.
@SladesVWBeetle2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Williams, and thank you so much my friend for always being here. I didn’t noticed the poison ivy until I was watching the film 🤦🏼♂️

I was in an air-cooled VW Club in the '80s and we would take the parts off of that solid tube pre 68 type one steering column and put them on a late model collapsible one.
@dubworldvwadventures2 жыл бұрын
Good work on removing that column. I've had some that would absolutely not budge due to rust.

Dear Saldes I will not be able today to catch the LIVE broadcast unfortunately due to huge time difference between USA and Germany , it would be 3.00 am in the morning , so, if you dont mind i will put some questions to you on your LIVE video and i will be very thankful if you reply me. warm regards from Germany to you and your blessed family.

I would modify the 67 column with the 68 collapse part. Just my opinion. The 68 is a safer column.
@SladesVWBeetle2 жыл бұрын
Oddly enough I was thinking that. For safety reasons of course. Since I already have it.

@jeffbannon13452 жыл бұрын
Slade, why not grab those two 67s as parts cars for the one you are building? Seems like there are lots of parts that might come in handy. At least this way you save chunks of those cars given they are going to the crusher anyway.
@SladesVWBeetle2 жыл бұрын
I really wish I could Jeff, unfortunately I don’t have much space at my house. I’m going to keep saying what I can grab off of them.
@Kikinahm2 жыл бұрын
10:35 So, Slades does it impromptu repairs, too!
@vintage76vipergreenBeetle2 жыл бұрын
The dashboard in blue bug, looks good for the 67. I would cut the front clip off the parts car. The easiest way is to cut in 4 spots. Heater channels and posts by the windshield.
@SladesVWBeetle2 жыл бұрын
We went back and got the dash from the blue bug, I still have to edit the video. I probably should’ve talk more of the dash. But I just got a little over what I really need. I would like to have both of them parts cars but I don’t have the space unfortunately.

hey there folks, how far south are you//? to find a beetle in one piece haha almost impossible to find any up here on the east coast of canadian rust belt, any good ones they want tens of thousands dollars for them
@losebjughashvili84652 жыл бұрын
Your so lucky to have not only one….but two…parts cars. Incidentally my 67 wasn’t much better than the one your taking parts from. Ha ha ha. Here, things don’t rust…..so there are zero parts cars. Especially for a 67. They have all been restored, or crushed.
@SladesVWBeetle2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do feel very lucky those cars are there right now. I’m trying to grab everything that I can. Thank you so much for being here I truly appreciate it.
