I love his songs, all of them. I give not one shite about how they came about, who YOU think he is or where he came from or what he is about, OR his credentials for commenting about life. I like his songs, they speak to ME. Massive credit to the man, and his worthwhile productivity.

The Samuel Beckett of popular music. Very witty, dark humour which seems to focus on the absurd and the mudane. To be able to put into words that which the rest of us can only partially glimpse through the veil of illusion we call reality is a rare gift.

Truly genius, with exception. Johnny Marr never needed him to make his music great. There was no drama in music, those days... Morrissey filled a hole, music in general was missing, since days of Bowie past. Still love him Saw him at MSG, 10th row floor, awesome...

What embarrassment??! Ringleader of the Tormentors and Years of Refusal are both great albums! I think its amazing that the output from Morrissey has remained strong all these years, unlike most(even great) artists. And live he is better than ever!! I do think he was a little nervous at this show though.

Morrissey sits in his room and writes "there is no-one on earth I'm afraid of" (or similar) but he is truly petrified because he spends so much time in that room NOT being with anyone. He's more of a Catch 22 than an Enigma. Being a part of the general populace is the only thing that will bring him happiness, but every time he tries to integrate he finds unhappiness. Which is prob why his songs resonate with so many people. There's more but I only have 43 characters remaining,, get us a pint! :)

Wow... I was raised in Manchester and was there from the age of 4 to 19. Since then (20 years past) I've been around here there and other places, but I've never been anywhere as free, open, accepting and creative as Manchester. You were labelled gay for reading a BOOK? What books were you reading? Which part of Manchester thinks reading is gay??? I do believe I took your message too seriously as I'm feeling a bit silly responding to it now :)
