I absolutely love it ! My first car was a 68 Malibu 327 (I believe L-79) with a 4-speed, roll tach, 4:10 posi 12 bolt blue with black vinyl top and white interior. White is now my favorite color on a car … what a great gift from an awesome wife ! You never forget your first car and oh man I had some crazy times in that car… front and backseat 😮

I would take that over a SS 396 any day! Its a keeper. The 327 is one fine small block and I love bench seats. The options on it are just icing on the cake...........Congrats on your gift!

Let me ask ya why?
@troynov19657 ай бұрын
@@andrewmoser4118 Well one thing I like the 327 over the 396. Plus its lighter engine so makes for better handling and braking. I just like the plain jane looks over the SS and it is very well optioned. Only thing I would prefer on it is 4 on the floor.

If someone gave a present of that beautiful featured automobile, I'd drive and drive forever and then some. Some people have all the luck indeed. Nice story and presentation guy's!!!!!

Drove a yellow 69 ss had a 427 transplanted factory 4 speed 12 bolt in the 80s Got some cool fast cars but wish I had that one. Our dream cars are our old cars no matter how many new ones we get.

Yeah, it's very cool. I'd personally swap a TKX into it, bucket seats & console, suspension kit, and a new alum radiator with electric fans. Otherwise, it looks great. He's a lucky man.
@MuscleCarOfTheWeek7 ай бұрын
Right on! The Global West suspension upgrade did a lot for this car. TKX would be cool over the bench!
@mlp-hot-rod58247 ай бұрын
@MuscleCarOfTheWeek True, and it would help preserve the lifespan of that original 327. Much like a heart, the slower it runs, the longer it lasts.

I had a 69 SS 396 Chevell that had the same fiber optic light package.

Hey any chance his wife has a sister with the same qualities... I'm available. I like the "oddities" .... from the days when you could create your own instead of the now cookie cutter dictator options now. The 327 is a good power plant. The Malibu (stripe less) all the better and the options on it oh man it is awesome. Nothing wrong with updating the Go and Stop parts... that's a sweet ride, enjoy. It's not how fast you get there but how... and this a perfect example of How.

The motor needs to be pulled and send off to the machine shop for the big hp upgrades. It's small, but a 327 can be very mighty.

Only 68 Chevelle to own was the L78 - 396/375 h.p.!! Or, L89 -396 with aluminum heads!! Both were 375- detuned(so Gm.. said), actually 425h.p. used in first year BB vette, 1965!!

My dad purchased same car but maroon it had the L 79 327 and 4 spd one week after returning from Vietnam. Couldn't afford the L 78 SS Chevelle.
