That 68 tail treatment is the coolest of the 1968-70 Coronets. GOOD LUCK with her!!!

Serious gem! I had a friend back in school that bought one that was rigged for the track. That was the fastest I ever went in a car. What an unreal ride that was. He ended up taking the race engine out and dropped a small block in it to drive around. He did keep the race motor.

You get that 440 fired up and if it's still original/un-rebuilt and hitting on all 8.... then you may be in for a shock ? I've got a '69 R/T 440/auto/column.... survivor, un-rebuilt, and just say'in here.... pretty damn impressive even by today's standards. The thing is a frigg'in rocket far beyond it's brakes/suspension, and the column shift is FINE BY ME because you need two hands on the wheel to keep it on the road even just left in "D" ! I've been using just a touch of 2 stroke Oil in the 91 Octane fuel, like 100 ml to a full tank every 2n tank or so for the V/Seats, and lotsa zinc in the Oil for the flat tappets, timing back at 2* BTDC and shut it off 'in gear' to prevent run-on. I don't whoop on it very often.... but still pretty impressive when tasked.

Love the car. I know it’s a year later vut you have probably already figured out that the trunk lid is a holy grail part for the one year model 68 Coronet. I have the same car in my garage, all original. Thankfully my trunk lid is pristine. I look forward to watching your prigress etc. excellent find.

@@EverythingHorsepower lucky that you found one for sure. That’s a grrat project and I’m looking forward to your updates. I have a bulge hood that’s got some damage but not in the bulge area that I’m cutting out to install on a pnother regular that I have. for another. The latch area is good as well if you end up in a pickle with your repair.

Nice car must have been special order bench seat column shift instead of the buckets and console which come with the R/T cars. 👍
@EverythingHorsepower

It’s not really a bench it has flip up centre piece that when flipped up makes a bench it’s definitely different

@@EverythingHorsepower Yeah I've built alot of these mopars back in the day and this is the way they built thier bench seats. I built a 69 charger had the same bench seat and shifter on column. But I built a plum crazy purple charger had the console and buckets and with 318 originally it's the way customers ordered them. Just that yours being a RT it's odd to have column shift and bench seat musta been specially ordered that way. Your Vin plate could give you some answers. 👍 If you need some original b-body parts I may have them also glass too it was my left over parts from my builds.
