This is the best car ever presented by MyRod, even the music was cool. I have a 1968 Mustang, very nice, just under what was shown here.

This 1968 Mustang Fastback GT S-Code sure is a beaut and of course had the best looking body I say because of the back window with the roof side louvers and great looking interior and your video is a great show of this car and also your other videos with your other Mustangs 👍

Built right . It's easy to get 400 hp out of these 390's . C8AX ford cam or sig erson cam . High rise intake 735 0r better Holley carb . The greatest increase is in the exhaust manifolds CJ or headers will make it really breathe .

Learned to drive in a car like this, same color 289. My brother came home from Vietnam and his high school friend was home at the same time. His friend lost his right leg in Vietnam and just happened to be home. They both lost their lives in a horrific car accident that night. We had my brother for 28 days and cherish those few days. My parents kept the Fastback for us as we were gonna soon be of age. Loved your presentation. I’m guessing hiway gears in the 9 inch, recognized the shift kit immediately. Just a suggestion, run the 3 options on the C6. You won’t hurt it, and learn to drive the automatic through it’s paces, you will love it. Learn to drive the gears through watching the tach. That’s what it’s there for. Most folks don’t think you can shift an automatic, let me say, Oh Yes You Can and it’s better than a 4 speed. Drive watching the tack, drop it in 2 Nd at about 15 MPH watch the tack and shift up. A roller coaster is nothing compared to what your strapped to. Have fun, you won’t hurt a thing. Use the tach!

Thank you for sharing. I agree with your suggestion concerning amping up the driving experience of automatic tranny cars. I need to do that more often as it is fun and effective.

At the end of the summer of 1967 I bought a 1968, Candy Apple Red, 390 Mustang GT Coupe, 4 speed. It was purchased off the showroom floor for $3500.00. The vehicle was the best vehicle until it was in a head on accident. After being repaired it did not feel the same. Getting longer in the tooth my favorite vehicle is the 2015 Chrysler 300 Limited bought brand new in August of 2015. My recollections of the look, performance and feel still stir my love of the car. The 11 mpg was not the issue it would be today, especially since my 2015, 300 gets close to 30 on the highway.

Im a guitar collector and only fantasize in the muscle car error (possibly give up a testicular for a 69 mack 1) However, I know the feeling playing a 1960's Les Paul. its like a hot rod in your hands. anyway, I admire your passion and the cars here. great stuff.

I was under the impression that a Mustang with a GT package, and a automatic transmission was designated a GTA? Did that change for 68?

At this point... $60K - $75K depending on quality and options. But they're continuing to go up in value.

Really nice BB Mustang. The 390 CID 320 HP is nice. But the Cobra Jet 428 engine in a 1968 Mustang is my Favorite. I almost bought a 1969 GT 500 428 CID Selby in 1986. I have owned a rare 1970 Camaro L-78 402 CID 375 HP from 1988 to 2001. My present Classic is the other BB 1970 Camaro SS396 L-34 402 CID 350 HP. Big Block Camaro's and Mustang's forever.

Such unbelievable condition, you have such high standards for your cars. I was a little surprised to see the S-Code with an automatic . . is that a rare option with the 390?
@danielmoore30567 жыл бұрын
I just purchased a 68 S-code 390 with the Deluxe interior and it is automatic as well and would like to know if it is a rare option too. Although Mine is Raven black with a Gold C decal and no shoulder strap or mesh insert, it has torq thrust wheels on it now, but It came with the original wheels with center cap with GT logo.

Thank you, It goes well with my 641/2
@astrogen19606 жыл бұрын
For sure. Except, where I live in Pittsburgh, you can get caught stopping on extremely steep hills and in stop an go rush hour traffic. Mostly, I'd take a 4-speed version of this Mustang, outside of the city to have fun.
@danielmoore30566 жыл бұрын
I would prefer a stick yes, both my mustangs are automatic which I drive often to work and back and I can get heavy traffic at times here "I live outside Boston" and I drive the 641/2 often to upstate New York where my kids live, so for me I just like the automatic for long hauls.

Nice car and video! It looks just like the 67. What's the real difference here other than the year? Thanks! Pete :")
@dave3887 жыл бұрын
alwayspete I'm not sure what all of the differences are, but I know the '68 has side markers that the '67 didn't have. The side scoops also changed if I'm not mistaken, and the '67 still had the lap belt option while the '68 had the shoulder belt.

Not as pretty as the 65. It became...bulkier...more masculine, but not is a good way. Like those roid pumpers at the gym.
