That stud with the nut on it was just the stud that was planned to stay in the block to help keep starter in alignment when installing it. And as typical, the dirt behind the nut over time jams the nut to the stud and locks them together, so they both come out as one piece. You know, with that new starter you won't have the traditional Mopar "whine" when you crank it over. 😀

You will see a big difference when you go to start it. It will fire up faster. It felt like I had a new motor once I put powermaster minnie starters on my duster and d100.
