Bought a 69 Z/28 for 1200.00 bucks in 1981 minus the 302. Bought a .30 over rebuilt 302 a year later. Loved it! Best 10mpg or so you could ever own. Sold it for 1800 some time later.Got my money back except gas and tune ups! Kick my own ass every day since. It wasn't numbers matching ,wasn't worth a fortune, but damn I miss that high revving, tire barking, parent scaring, envy of the neighborhood. Fired that 302 up on a Sunday morning before church, with open headers. One of my coolest moments according to the young kids around Norton Circle!

Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Finds. Patrick I watch enough Mecum without even watching the video yet, you're correct, a copo with Auto, yes very few ordered. I watch Mecum reruns and all AM/PM don't matter. Waiting for Mecum in Harrisburg,PA August 2,3 & 4th. I'm a purist, as a car guy we never stop learning. Do you have a business or partners? I was in accident last year and now disabled, have a substantial case going, wanted a shop but not able to do work myself at the moment, I could be a money partner in the future if needed, nothing I love more then seeing forgotten about cars of any kind and picturing them back to show room condition. A lot of this younger generation has no passion for cars, it's sad. Thanks.

My COPO is a X11 car. Base coupe, style trim. (it has all the chrome, including door edge guards) I wish I could send an engine picture of when I bought in in 1986. I swore that was my car when I first started watching this video. I had the same valve covers and intake, and my Super Coil was mounted on the firewall like this one, and I have the same radiator.

You did a great job with this video and this Yenko was a pleasure to see. Fathom green always did look good with the white Yenko stripes, in my opinion. Yenko originally ordered 30 Camaros with the TH400 automatic, but one car ordered with a Muncie 4 speed was delivered as an automatic making the actual total 31. Either way, 1 of 7 with matching #'s drive-train will be very valuable once it's restored. I can't wait to see it when it's done. Congratulations!

I’m a younger guy than most here , but my tale is from the newer generation. I graduated in 91 , and that year my dad bought a new car. Big deal till 03 when they offered him 500$ on a trade in for a new car. My dad keeps his cars mint , this was in excellent shape. So he calls me and asks “want a car for 500$? “ Sure I do. Ok sorry to burst your bubble but it’s a red 2 door 91 Jetta diesel. Not a mommy 4 door but a coupe as the kids call them now, and those that know watercooled vws dig em cause they are not so common. I’m glad I wasn’t into it in 03 and basically drove it a little and parked it and didn’t cut it up and modify it. I resurrected it in 2012, and it’s been a fun journey ever since. It’s never had a hole drilled anywhere, I’ve got all the stock parts and every piece of paper ever. I’m just as anal as you musclecar guys with the correctness and the preservation. Matter of fact I just got some nos goodies off eBay, one of them being the corner window sticker with the engine break in instructions. And I scored a couple of interior parts with date coding really close to what’s correct. Same but different cause it’s newer then the classic stuff , but I’m having a lot of fun with it. Thankfully my dad’s still here and I let him drive it still.

To the guy with the broken record comment. Some very experienced individuals advised me that the most important information should be stated early in the video, again in the middle, and in closing. This is so guys don’t have to rewind to get the meat. Not a broken record just following the advice of those who have experience with informative videos. The idea is to stay on the topic and not on things nobody wants to hear about.

Very cool find! How do you hear about all these super rare cars you do videos on? Do people contact you or are you plugged into the inner circle? Like you, I am obsessed with these special conversion cars. I did a trip last July to the northeast starting in PA to pick up a bunch of NOS parts I hunted down as well as a 70 Nova SS originally from Berger Chevrolet. Needless to say, I stopped at the old Yenko dealership in Canonsburg. Man was it awesome seeing the old building. Plans for the Nova are to do a special conversion replica car.

Also, just in reference to all '69 Camaro's. If the VIN starts with 1243, it means it came with a V8 but doesn't designate which V8. If the VIN number starts with 1234 it means it came with a straight 6. There was only one of those.
@GlassTopRX7
@GlassTopRX7 6 жыл бұрын
It's just the 3rd digit, the first two digit denote it was made for the US market, the 3rd is the engine, and the 4th is the body type coupe or convertible. If it had a V8 in a first gen you can't confirm with the VIN what engine it came with or if was a base, RS, SS, or Z\28.
