Hey Pat and thanks for the rare finds, keep them coming. My first car in 1984 was a 1971 SS 454 I purchased for $1500. It had 43k original miles. It was smog motor 2bolt main, oval port heads with limited slip 331. I did some restoration on it before selling in early 90's and when removing the rear seat I found the build sheet. To this day when you uncover a Chevelle I wish I still had the car.

Just subscribed to your channel....I've been watching a lot of your videos. I'm extremely impressed with your specific knowledge on these 1970 Chevelles (The most iconic muscle car). I too have a great passion for 60s & 70s muscle cars and completely appreciate a rare barn find, especially the story behind car and it's history. :) Keep bringing us these videos and I will keep watching & liking them.

Still think it's cool that I grew up about 30 minutes away from Cville where you grew up. I'm just north of Guthrie in Ky so I've spent a lot of time all over Clarksville. I wish I had your determination and ambition that's earned you the opportunity to create a career in doing what you obviously love. I've been in love with classic vehicles since day 1 and not perusing a career in that field is a huge regret. I was 12 years old when I discovered the 2 main ultimate dream cars that are still the same today. 1971 Hemicuda and a 70 LS6 Chevelle in that order. I don't play any lottery games so the reality is I'll never come close to owning the Cuda and most likely never will have a true LS6 either but the Chevelle is definitely closer to a reality than the Hemicuda for sure. I thoroughly enjoy all the videos you post and all the extensive knowledge that you share! You're definitely living my dream and If you ever need a ride along or looking for an apprentice I'm just down the road haha. Best channel on KZbin for sure and I hope to watch many more uploads for years to come!

I see a trend in keeping these cars as is like the car in this video, barn finds/survivor cars. While I like seeing restored cars, I've see tens of thousands of them, and it gets boring...now I'm digging all these barn finds/garage finds/survivors/Ratty Musclecars!! I have 2 of them myself...a 1968 Lemans H/O and a 1969 Chevelle.

I'm thinking part of the reason these Chevelles are so valuable today is they weren't cheap to begin with. Checkout the prices of other 1970 model cars and you'll see what I mean. Also notice the interest rate of 13.69% on the sales contract.

Just curious if there's a complete written breakdown of codes and numbers for 68-72 Chevelles/ElCaminos? I compiled a list of numbers and codes for 60's Novas and gave that to the guy that bought my last Nova, and this was before the internet. Shouldn't have because when he passed away, everything got thrown out. Thanks.

Hi there, im curious about the engine stamp pad it has the CTW code on it meaning automatic transmission only or either combination because my friends 70 El Camino SS 396 has a 4-speed transmission. would the stamp pad code be different for a manual trans, thx.

There is no way that this car has been "parked" for 48 years. That car has been driven a lot. You talk of this car like it was purchased and then put in that barn. If it was then why does it not have the original engine and why is it so rusty?

Not trying to be argumentative, but by what factual basis do you come to the conclusion that the “1970 Chevelle SS is one of the most sought after classic muscle cars”? Again just curious and not trying to cause drama. I mean don’t get me wrong, they are amazing muscle cars, but I myself would much rather have a 1969 Super Bee 440 six pack. It’s just my taste and I could easily say that they are one of the most sought after classic muscle cars. Right?

Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Finds hey I understand that you’re a Chevelle fanboy and I’m not knocking the car what so ever. But still, facts are facts and opinions are like A-Holes. Everybody has one. You telling me the vin # of this car and showing me the tag states a fact. You telling me that the 1970 Chevelle SS is the “poster child for all muscle cars bar none” is two things actually. #1 It’s is definitely an opinion. #2 it’s a far reaching opinion at that. Enjoy your videos anyway. Have a good one bud.

@@specialoperator8902 The Chevelle, especially the 1970, is one of the most sought after muscle cars today. Values determine desirability. The Super Bee is a great car but the Charger the same year would be much more sought after. A Charger is about as sought after as a Chevelle, Super Bees are probably closer to GTO's or maybe even 442s. Even an A12 Super Bee isn't at the price level of an LS6 Chevelle.
