This gorgeous Z28 is reluctantly consigned by its owner only after he suffered a serious back injury which prevents him from being able to enjoy this car.
Please note the thorough documentation of this car including NCRS Shipping Data Report, the trim tag decoding, and the engine pad and casting numbers.
This car is in very good, well maintained, driver quality condition. Previous owners have been not wanted to spoil the originality of this car so they carefully maintained what they had.
Here is the description of this car when it was last on the market:
1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 R/S
ALL the critical Z28 mechanical components are correct(except carb)
original Motor
original Heads
original Exhaust Manifolds
original Transmission
Original rear end
correct Castings
correct Stampings
correct Date Codes
correctB ody Trim Tag
correct Floor mounted GAS PEDAL
correct F41 Suspension with welded on Sway Bar mounts
correct 3/8 inch Fuel Line
correct 6500 REDLINE Tach
Power Steering
Power Disc Brakes
4:10 POSI Rear end
Am/Fm Radio
Console
Very rare, REAL DEAL 1970 Z-28which appears to have 100% of its original critical mechanical components still in place (excluding Carb) with ALL date codes lining up perfectly, and ALL castings & stamps verified - SEE PHOTOS ABOVE documenting everything.
ULTIMATE Color code 65body &code 10 stripes
As documented by the TRIM TAG, this is a true factory Hugger Orange car with White Strips. Not only is this one of the most, if not the most highly prized color combo for a 1970 Z28, it is also super hard to find. This rare eye-popping color combo has a positive impact on value.
* trim tag denotes 28 for Z28 with is correct for early Norwood Z28s built prior to the middle of April (cars built after the middle of April added a Z in front of the designation)
* trim tag code 10 denotes White STRIPES unique to Z28
* unique Z28 only floor mounted Gad Pedal
* unique mechanical lifter motor with correct code stamp, with correct DATE
* vin numbers matching MUNCI4-speed tranny with correct DATE
* special 4:10 POSI 12-bolt performance rear-end, with correct DATE
When you have the critical unique Z-28 specific components present, along with all correct date codes, correct castings, correct stamps and even original BROACH marks on the engine pad you have a real car.
All DATE code (stamps & casting) are correct & line up perfectly.
Built at the Norwood plant in the first week of March of 1970. The body, motor, transmission and rear-end are ALL correctly date coded for this time frame …. in other words …. all the date codes line up perfectly.
Engine Block CASTING:As documented in the picture below, the engine block was CAST the first Week of March 1970.
Engine Block VIN STAMP: The stamp on the block above the oil filter matched the VIN on the car and title.
Engine Block Pad STAMP:As documented in the picture below, the engine block was stamped and serialized in the First Week of March 1970.It is the correct stamp for the Z28.
V0304CTB.................. V = block was cast at Flint MI plant
0304 =March 4th….first week of March
CTB= LT1 solid lifter HiPo 350/360hp Z28 Camaro motor
GAS PEDAL …..The1970 Z-28 got a unique Gas Pedal. The Z-28 pedal is easily distinguished from NON-Z-28 Camaros by the fact that the base of the gas pedal is mounted to the floorboard. This can be easily be distinguished from a non-Z28 Camaro which has a suspended gas pedal which does NOT have its base mounted to the floor – rather it is suspended in the air. By looking at a Z28 from underneath you will clearly see how and where the factory installed the two gas pedal STUDS (I have documented this on my car in the photo above). The studs are threaded on the bottom to allow nuts to hold them in place and on the inside of the car they are ball shaped on the end to allow the gas pedal to be pressed on them for a compression fit.
Rear-end COO coded 4:10 Posi rear-end is a Hi-Po item that is almost exclusively found ont he high-performance Z-28, or L78. It was an OPTION that had to be ordered.
STRIPES. the code 10, found on the cars trim is for White Stripes which is almost exclusively a unique Z-28 item
All the gauges work and all the lights come on inside and outside the car. In fact with the exception of the original Am/Fm radio, everything on the car works, even the seat belt BUZZER alarm.
This car is completely sorted and turn key, it comes with a clear California title and is smog exempt.

If I had a car like that I'd just use it as a Friday night and weekend cruiser. Gone are the days when light to light racing was just some Friday night fun. Too many serious street racers these days with way too much horsepower under the hood. What happened to the good old day where switching out a cam, intake, and bolting on some headers meant you could add maybe 50 or 60 horsepower at best.... Only problem is finding high octane gas to run the muscle car....

Those were the best times in history!! muscle cars in every street corner and drag racing daily with no cops on our tails!! a couple of cops I knew had 70 454 vettes and raced us back then!!!🤣🤣😍

@@evanbarr9270 I picked up a 1969 GTO RA III engine and put the engine in my brothers half ton Sierra. Premium octane wasn't high enough and melted a few of the pistons.... Insane horsepower for a stock RA III engine.

@@happycat0411 you know 1971 was the year they switched to low compression moters for the low lead .I bought a 1971 catalina with 455 4bbl. Factory duels .it had the owners manuel that went thru all this stuff about low lead fuels ,and how with pontiacs( tractive force ) they where equal to the 1970 cars ,they just put lower gears in the rearend .! It also gave comparision on the gross and net hp. Anyway that car ran like a raped ape ,had a 342 12 bolt rear .crank windows heavy duty suspension .had a couple of camed out firebird 400 with headers cam, high lift rockers really helped to. man that was fun .definatly want a other old car theirs nothing like it.

@@evanbarr9270 I did later pick up a completely stock 1973 Formula 455 and rebuilt the engine back to stock specs. Even though the Formula 455 was rated at 250 Hp the torque output was around 450. It was extremely fast off the line. Had the original and complete functional RA setup for the big Formula hood scoops as well. Ended up selling the car for $3500 to pay for university. I would have liked to bolt on a set of 7K3 heads and that would have given me around 9.5:1 compression ratio which was good for pump gas. Hp would have been around 325 as well and torque close to 475 ~ 500 foot pounds.... Back in the mid 80s street racing was much less dangerous as most of us just had around 300 ~ 400 hp under the hood as no one was crazy enough to use NOS on the street.

I had a 70 Z28 back in the late 80s. Mine was all original, dark blue with black hard vinyl top. LT1, M21, and 4.11 gears. I've never seen one with a vinyl top so I think it's rare. Does anyone know how many were made with a vinyl top? Unfortunately, I had to sell it to pay for college. I miss that car.

Only for Norwood built cars. For a LA built car you need the build sheet and this is why a LA Z28 can be faked as the real deal. I bought my Norwood built 70 Z28 back in 1981 and 2 yrs ago I came across the orig owner who wants his, and his only car back IF it was for sale.
