My grandpa has a 70 all black landau original survivor. Lovely car to drive and surprisingly quick! I Wish Ford would make a variation of these full-size cars again!

When I was 2, my mom and dad bought a candy apple red 1970 landau Tudor with a white top and white interior. 20 years ago my dad gave it to me when I finished law school. I had it painted and did a little restoration work here and there, it didn't need much, and it looks fantastic still. Love driving it. Most people have no idea what it is.

I don't remember the commercial but I definitely remember the interior.... Of any car my favorite interior of all time!

The 70 Thunderbird came out in Sept 69 and the first commercial 747 flight was 3 months later in Jan 1970.

We had a 1968 Pontiac LeMans when this Ford came out, so the pronounced nose was not unfamiliar to us. In fact, I really liked it. Thought it was one of the prettiest cars in that era.

They were still shooting commercials in black and white back in 1970.

You find black and white commercials on some reels of film for black and white shows that were in syndication. This sort of ends in the early 1970's

Ford had a great end product in '70 as opposed hi end from GM. and Chrysler-they were real rectangular airliners...

I loved that interior the best of any Thunderbird offered and it was extremely limited only offered on the brougham edition.....correct me if I'm wrong......at about $8000

I can see $8000 fully loaded for a T-Bird. Lincolns were still under $10000 in 1970

May I ask, why is this not on full screen and on this little square with a giant border around it?

just a technical issue with the software used in editing, I don't always use the same editing tool.

They actually went to the trouble of putting a giant 70 bird in a 747? Or mock up? Cool vid!

I flew my Car to Europe in a 747, they have 50/50 units, cargo and passenger plane configurations.....the side cargo will allow a car inside. 747 Cargo planes had a nose cone that opened up so, it's wouldn't have been that hard to make this commercial. I just searched Google images using "747 cargo nose" and got a ton of pictures of 747 Cargo planes with the nose cone in the up open position....it's pretty neat. The spiral stair case means it's near the front of the plane, so, it's probably an opening nose cone and back the car right in.

@@OsbornTramain Except that the cargo versions of the 747 didn't come out until later. This was filmed in a cabin mock up as there are a number of things missing from a real 747 that give it away.
