About 27 years ago I completely rebuilt a 360 for a old truck, and I mean a complete rebuild.. I got it all put in and spent 2 weeks trying to get it started. I bet I restabed the distributor 30 times. Always had fire on #1 cylinder perfect compression all the way around.. after 2 weeks of work And it never starting , I was pulling dizzy for the 31st time and looked inside of the dizzy cap. And it only had 1 terminal inside on the #1 wire...I put old cap back on and had it running in 2 minutes .. now this was when tou could buy tuneup parts at Wal-Mart.... so don't feel bad .. we have all had bad days... love the videos keep it up

You are not gonna believe this. But in 19.83 I bought that same identical truck in Fayetteville Arkansas. It was a great truck. I drove it all over Arkansas. And then I drove it 16 hundred and 50 miles back to Westfield Massachusetts. I fixed it up nice inside and out. I drove it for 6 years in Massachusetts. Gave it to my little brother. He drove it for a long time to. Gas was cheap back then. I loved that truck. God bless. Thanks for sharing.

All of the American auto companies used the Borg Warner overdrive . Ford was the last company to use them. They stopped in the early to mid 70’s. I have one in my ‘58 Chevy, and it’s a joy to drive. I recently found your channel, and I enjoy it. Thanks.

What a great video & channel! Most people wouldn’t admit their mistakes. The fact that you did is what makes us realize that you are just like us…human! We all make mistakes, and this just shows how we can all learn from them. Thank you! Also, like you, I had no idea that Ford offered a cable-operated overdrive on the 3 speed transmission. Could it be an aftermarket item or do you think it’s OEM?

Man I was super excited when i checked my notification icon and saw you posted a video!!! I sure enjoy wrenching with you in the yard!! I'm only 12 minutes in right now, I'm sure I'll add this commZnt, but I'll tell you this to start.. Any time I get my hands on an old sitting motor like that FE you're messing with here, I always pull the valve covers, no matter what the hassle, because I would rather make sure I lubricate and add a nice amount of oil to all the springs and rocker arms and all that, just to do it. I know it'll oil itself but I feel SO much better, no matter how long it's been sitting, it NEEDS fresh oil up on top. Plus I tap all the valve springs anyway just be sure I don't bend a valve. A stitch in time saves nine, and oiling and checking my valves is way WAY less of a pain in the behind than to have to pull a head for a bent valve. Love your videos so much!! I can't wait to see 36.8k subscribers become 386.8k subs!!! GET TRENDING!!! Edit: Around 54:00, when you explain. I am going to tell you right now, I swear to the Lord in Heaven, as you were fiddlin' with that thing and I KNEW you were getting frustrated.. I was telling myself and yelling at you, I know you do Chevys, I KNOW you don't mess with a lot of Fords.. man, OH man, I'm not going to give anything up, but you know EXACTLY what I was screaming at the screen for 15 minutes!!!!! Glad you figured it out, I haven't gotten past your little talk with us yet, but I'm sure of the outcome! Thank you for telling us the way it actually is (in KZbin land everyone likes to be the star ALL the time, and I'm human just like the rest of us) : )

The Ranger in the 70s F 100 trucks were pretty much the top of the line truck for the time. Dad bought a 1976 F100 Ranger New with the 302 BOSS engine. He later bought a 1978 Ford and i wound up with it. I put Thrush Super Sidekick sidepipes on it and literally drove the wheels off of it. Drove it for 21 years
