I’ve been there but I didn’t use the rivets, they’re gone. I used fusor 101ez. It’s great for fibreglass, it doesn’t set until you put heat to it.

Yeah, I’m not sure if I were to do it again that I wouldn’t use the rivets either. I used a combination. I used panel bond on both sides of the fiberglass bonding strip. So the sheet metal is bonded to the fiberglass and the bonding strip. Is panel bonded to the actual clip.

@@mayermotorsports it was very easy actually with the fusor. A header bar should be one of the first things you do.

Arlin, I bought most of my replacement parts from Corvette Central. They have probably the best selection of structural replacement parts out there. Here the url for the header bar. www.corvettecentral.com/c3-68-82/body-frame/door-floor-roof-fiberglass/68-82-front-end-reinforcement-header-bar-metal-143004?returnurl=%2fsearch%3fcurrentsearchcategoryid%3d%26q%3dheader%2bbar

Where did you get the header bar and bonding strip from? I have to redo mine on my 70 as it has been sitting for some time and cracked my nose section from being off the frame for so long, I have it on a body dolly but minimal nose support and that is what gave.....

I believe I’ve got the actual header bar from top flight. As for the bonding strip, I reused the one I have and just cleaned it up. Look into the small bracing brackets on the left and right. I’m not sure if they came factory on the earlier models, but they actually bolt the header bar to the inner fender structures to help support.
