My dad had a maroon(black interior) and a metallic green(white interior) 72 Riveras. There's pictures of me sitting in,on and around both of them at 3 or 4 years old. The GS, wheels and sweeping front to back side design of this Stage 1 is almost the cars he had, except his was the bubble back glass boat tail. Very big cars, he died in 1989 when I was 6. But I remember us, with one of dad's friends, getting the green one running out of a junk yard. Green sat in a field behind my uncle's place up until my 20s, and they junked it. It was pretty far gone, the maroon was his cherry. I'm not sure where it went. He had many vehicles. Mostly the two Buicks and he had 5 or 6 1950s Ford F series trucks and Chevy's. When I see anything close to those in right back with him. Thanks man.

What I like about it that it survived all these years in preteen condition I remeber the half VYNLE too in front instead of rear like the Monte Carlo half VYNLE top. Great car over all I hav'nt seen a 455 version for that year ever..i grew up down the street from grand SPAULDING dodge they had one on there lot in 75 but in white and black configuration..what a sweet car Lou..im a Buick fan from way back since my dad brought his 68 Wildcat then the 70 la sabre ..both light green color . I had the 1972 GS GOLD AND BLACK INSIDE.

Another rare Buick. That steel sun roof is a major improvement compared with the sliding vinyl roof on the 1970-72 body style. This car has so many options it makes most Cadillacs and my Electra look bad! I go to quite a few car shows, but can’t remember seeing one like this. As usual, great car and story! Thanks Lou. Pic 'n Save department stores went out of business in Florida many years ago. A similar chain with an identical script still operates in Wisconsin. I worked at a couple of stores during the '72 - '73 school year in Florida before going to work for a Ford - Honda dealer during my junior-senior years '73 - '74. Split school sessions allowed for this to happen.

How the heck did he keep this car in such great original shape with 70000 miles on it! My friend's Mom had a 73 Regal coupe, nothing special, base 350 etc. But, it really was a nice car, handled well, and look great in and out. She liked this car much better than her 69 Volvo! Despite the owner's claim, "1987 Camaros" did NOT use this cars suspension. That generation Camaro (beginning in 1982) used front struts and a rear suspension that was very different (torque arm and Panhard rod.). Geometries were entirely different, etc. Why do people make such foolish claims?!
