Ford with Posi?
@RCH45ACPАй бұрын
Posi, short for Posi Traction, is just the GM name for a limited slip differential. It has become a generic term, like Coke can mean any brand of soda, and Xerox can mean any brand of copier, and Kleenex can mean any brand of tissue. Lots of people say posi, meaning limited slip differential, when referring to cars not made by General Motors. Ford called their limited slip differential Trac-Loc and MOPAR called theirs Sure-Grip, but lots of folks just say posi.

Positive Traction was used by Chevrolet first and foremost, while other divisions preferred their own commercial name for the limited-slip differentials they offered. However, it sounded odd for a Ford man to say 'posi'. Now I see why. Thanks!
