My dad bought one of these new in the fall of 1973, it was gold and was the same trim level as this one. It stickered at $4,500, he got a year end deal of $3,500 and drove it for 5 years, putting about 80,000 miles on it. It was reliable, but thirsty with the CA spec 351 engine. It was very solid and quiet. He offered to sell it to me but the gas mileage scared me off!

on the wagon rear end i actually like the 5 mile bumper design better. Ford wagons during the time always looked a bit weird in the back without it imo. front end was much better in 72 though.

We had the same wagon when I was a little kid growing up. Ours was green and had the hideous fake wood grain on the sides. Ours had a 351 modified with a 2bbl carb if I recall correctly. Your A/C would use R-12 unless it was converted to R-134A. Most people who drove these kind of cars in the US after the oil embargo just cut the A/C belt off to save gas.

I wish they would go back to making station wagons. I’d buy one.

Hi Matthew, i'm about to be the owner of a identical car as yours. I' love the wheels you have, i've been told that the car cannot have 10" wheels in the rear, which is obvious wrong information passed to me. I see that this video are more than 8 months old, but i'm wondering if you have the info on the wheels in particular the backspace of the rear wheels. Hope you see this and drop me a reply :)
