1974 AMC Javelin AMX

Absolutely the top car I have seen. Would love to own this AMX. Who ever built this car had the craft down to a science. Congratulations on a beautiful car.

I am an early Javelin and AMX owner. Years ago I appreciated the 71- 74 but wasn't really hot about them, today I think they are some of the widest meanest toughest looking muscle cars out there. And most everyone still doesn't realize the heart American Motors put into design and quality. Truthfully these are superior design. The decision AMC made to put forged steel cranks and rods in every 390 and 401 right up to the end. If you have ever cut a pillar post or rocker panel in half on a Javelin or AMX, and then on a Mustang or Camaro you will see the difference between manufacturers. American Motors was an amazing and genius company ahead of its time.

When I was 19 years old I bought a javelin 360 from 1972 and I had the car for 19 years twice repaired the engine and once I painted it I was very young and enjoyed the car as much as I could I had a very powerful engine in the city of caracas fashion like the camaro and the mustang this video reminds me of my youth with this car. I also had a 1972 Javelin with 360 and auto transmission back in my high school days. It was so fun and really fast for a stock car. Sadly I sold it when I went off to college. Glad you got to enjoy yours longer

My first car was a 74. The paint was orange with the black strip but this paint job is just gorgeous. A lot has gone into this Javelin and is sounds, and shows beautifully. Gotta win me a lottery some where!

when I was a kid , in front of my house he lived a lady and her 19 year old daughter and she always wore shorts and shirts tied and I saw as a disguised heroine and when happened a crime in the city, he climbed into his amc javelin 1974 to catch the bad guys

The very first car I bought. In 1979. Driving down a back alley it was parked under a tree in a backyard. It was black with gold trim. Three flats. Car was sunk in the grass. And covered in tree shit. What a mess. Glad all the glass was intact. Inside was white seats and black everything else. In awesome condition. I decided to find out if the car was for sale. I had thousand dollars on hand. I knocked on the door. And this drunken long haired musician drummer. Owly unpleasant mf. I said are selling the car in the yard. How you got. I told him. He said I want fn 1200. Now we didn't have ATM machines. And it was the weekend. Only thing available was to ask a favor. So I left got the two hundred from a friend and went back with the friend that gave the two hundred. He helped me get the tires filled and cleaned and even taught me how to drive a 4 speed. I got to know the owner as we were working on the car in his yard. A few cold beers and he was a pretty cool guy. Lost his license. And with little hope of getting them back lol. I got the car.

1974 was the beginning of the end for AMC. Production of the Javelin and the Ambassador ceased. The giant obsolete Matador coupe was intrduced. After that, AMC uad nothing new to offer except the Eagle crossover in the same 10 year old body as the Hornet-Concord until the Eagle Premer came out the year Chrysler bought the company. The fragile French cars that Renault had them peddling were trash.

It's a AMC Javelin with a AMX trim package!!!!!!! It's NOT a AMX !!!!! Dry insulting to a AMX owner. Only made the AMX from 1968 to 1970. And only one as a test model in 1971 which the cars original designer owned . That's a Javelin .
