Oh yeah... BTW - I have NEVER seen a high-rise elevator before without an inner door!

+Uphoisting Experiences by Technicalboy3000 Welcome to Scandinavia. Home of vintage elevators, one completely original from 1905. Anyone watching this video interested in vintage elevators like this, go to Scandinavia and film some elevators there.

Elevating Europe I've filmed a modernized 1940s OTIS yesterday...

4:25 I think I know what happened here - the logic might just not be designed to handle such a scenario. It's related to how floor selectors in old lifts work. Being in the leveling zone of a floor counts as being on that floor. As such, the lift logic has no way to determine if the lift car is above or below the floor while it's in the leveling zone of that floor. Normally, when entering the leveling zone the lift continues moving in the same direction until it reaches the point where it should stop. As you stopped the lift in the leveling zone of floor 2, the lift thought it should continue moving in the same direction it previously was moving in order to stop on floor 2. Which resulted the lift going to floor 1 instead and might be the reason why it refused to move afterwards.

Awesome! There are some awesome 70s elevators in Poland serving the ground floor (P) and floors 1-10. Location: Samsonowicza 17, Lublin, Poland.

Interessting that the lift halted for a few minutes. A possible relay jam?
@HeritageElevators9 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Something triggered the stop-circut at the point where it should only have switched from full-speed to leveling-speed. The controllers also "looses" calls when i have pressed too many floor buttons. Contact issues i guess. Typical for worn-out poorly maintained machinery like this

Wonder why classic bulbs are getting replaced with LED bulbs. The Kone controllers are not acting that great.
@HeritageElevators9 жыл бұрын
Because LED bulbs last much longer and also use less energy. It's a very simple way to reduce costs as an alternative to modernizing.
