One of my faves. 73 and 74 440s were not bad performers at all. A little know how and you could have the same performance as the pre 1971s. This is a sweet example u have!

Nice! I have a '73 Mist Green RR w/ white stripes with a 400/4-speed with the buddy seat, white and black interior. You have a very unusual interior. The plush carpet seemed very unusual, but I guess with these later RRs, you see all sorts of interesting combinations.

Love the red plaid interior... a lot of people don't know that was a factory option in 74. I like the blackout hood. Nice touch. Did it come from factory without the bumper guards? And as far as the shag carpet goes, back in 75 when I was 18, I changed out my black carpet for a bronze shag carpet in my 73 Bronze Road Runner. And in my basement, I bought a replacement carpet for my Road Runner project in the color bronze, and taking another look at it, it's a little deeper than I remember. But, we all made modifications to our cars back then. While I usually talk about factory, none of us were keeping it factory. Inherit a 318 engine and stick a 340 camshaft in, 340 headers, and you've got a nice engine! And your rallye dash is in great shape. Even the argent silver accent is still there! Question: why don't you have the Road Runner emblem on the far right side of the trunk lid? Inquiring mind wants to know! lol. Love the red and white combination. Nice car!

Thanks, The bumper guards where the chrome with the black rubber bumper. I didn’t like the look with them on, but I still have them. As far as the roadrunner on the deck lid, I just never put it back on after I re-painted it. I do have it. At some point I will go through the car again and straighten all of that stuff out.

Was cruising you tube and stumbled across your RR. I think you said u had this car 82' was it? Funny how tastes change over the years. In 84' someone offered to give me a 71'GTX if I would just haul it away ( two blocks from my home - I could've pushed it home) but at that time I thought this body style was so ugly and 440's were a dime a dozen back then - so I turned it down. It was clean and straight w/nice fat centerlines and a 440. Now I own a 72' Satellite and it's one of my favorites. Go figure - LOL Good post - Very clean RR. I especially like the wireless engine bay and love the seats. I'm going to see your channel to see how you like that overdrive trans mission. I enjoyed this post.

Thanks, Your right, back then i was picking up car cheap, just wish i was able to keep them all. this car was my first, so i kept it. I like the overdrive but haven't driven the RR much since. it is put away as i build my '37pu. I do have the same trans in my '65 Belvedere and really like it. I think there is a video of driving that car on my channel.

Looks stock to me minus the oversized federally mandated bumper guards. Good job using a plug on the holes where they were, I did the same thing.
