Glad you got one! I snagged the silver '74 Z28 from them last month. I'm loving mine and I know you will too. Looks like a great one!

I love this car I had one just like it except mine was 4speed and the best car I've ever owned it had over 300,000 miles when I sold it with 4:10 positive traction rear end .
That is a beautiful car and one of those cats sounds like Bill Murray!

Congrats PD3a11 !! I have a 74 Z28 as well. Mines pretty bone stock like yours appears to be. Couple cool things I noticed: no Z28 call outs on your fenders which I believe is correct. You either got stripes and no badges or if your car was stripe delete then you got the Z28 badges on the fenders. Most times they’ve been added on incorrectly cause they look cool. The other thing that stood out is I think you have the original aluminum clips on the finned valve covers that hold the wires. Those are hard to find and pretty expensive too. Best of luck with the car and enjoy it.

What a cool comment to read. I am learning so much about the second gen and things like the badge and stripe delete I could never know or find anywhere. Thanks for the info. JOhny

I thought 74 I had one I had a great silver one and it comes with the Z28 on the side of the van first, that’s an LT one corral. If you look at the pictures on the 74 it comes with Z 28 on the fenders on the side, that’s got the LT wanted the top but it’s it does have Z28 on the side nowhere just got the tape on stripes

GM lacked putting Z28 side fender emblems on this optioned Z28 with the billboard stripes. Come on GM smartin up.😅

Bought a new 74 z28 4-speed , ordered it had to wait 6 weeks to have it built, bright yellow with z28 stripes . Paid 4892.00 Canadian for it . Still have the bill of sale but sadly not the car , really miss it

Nice Z28! Just hard to concentrate on you talking with the engine running throughout lol.

These big Z28 stripes (RPO D88 I believe) are only correct looking on the white cars as originally intended. The white vinyl in the stripes was originally to be clear but an error happened with the supplier and they were delivered with the white area instead of clear. It was too close to production time to make the correction so Chevrolet used them. I think the white works so I like them now but thought they were a little over the top when new in ‘74.

I remember hearing this tidbit from a guy who was a second-gen expert! Also, as posted above, this car is presented CORRECTLY without fender emblems! Very few of them remain that way, and most people restoring them to "original" will incorrectly put both D88 decals and emblems on.
@chrisbudai409Ай бұрын
@@jamesharding4056when the car had the type Lt package the Z28 fender emblems were deleted if the car didn't have the TypeLt package you got the Z28 fender emblems
@jamesharding4056Ай бұрын
@@chrisbudai409 That is true for 1973 models only. 1974 would have both Z28 and Type LT emblems.
@jamesharding4056Ай бұрын
@@chrisbudai409 The 73 Type LT Z28 would say "Camaro 350" on the fender. 1974 Z28 (whether Type LT or not) should have NOTHING on the fender if ordered with D88 stripe package. Type LT emblems would be on the rear pillar.
@chrisbudai409Ай бұрын
@@jamesharding4056 your correct about the type Lt sail panel emblems if the Z28 had the type Lt option, i was only 7 years old in '74 I i only saw one Z back then that had the hood stripes. I have a gorgeous 1976 Type Lt that is silver with the black vinyl top that i bought 3 years ago all original with 53,400 miles

I loved my 1974 Z28 bought in Livingston New Jersey at Wigdor Chevrolet for 5,200 New right off the Showroom floor. Added Koni shocks and BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires G50 15. An Amazing Old time Muscle Car bought in High school and enjoyed for years it was White with Red Leather Interior and 4 speed Muncie Shifting, I believe it was standard possibility of a Hurst, Not the LT version completely Stock exceptI had to buy aSun Tach for some reason it wasn't included but Chevrolet put it into the Original warranty and delivered it that way, Now I want another one at 65 years young, after getting rid of my Original 1988 M5 BMW I kept for over 30 years and loved it for German Engineering for as long as I had it.. my first vehicle was : A 1972 Volvo P1800e not the wagon version. Both had beautiful wings built into the design 4 speed with a 5th gear which on the column like a turn signal with an electronic overdrive "The Saint Car" Volvo another amazing sports car experience. Thank you for your video.

Has the LT one come and doesn’t have a Z 28 on the side fenders like the 74 I bought my Avenue and 74 and move it had Amazon both side fenders they didn’t have the stripes on the hood that was later the dealership didn’t know it was a Z 28 and after they sold it to me and salt on the other side of the car
@jamesharding4056 Жыл бұрын
1973 Camaros with Type LT and Z28 deleted ALL Z28 emblems on the car. 1974 did not. However, the Z28 should display either the stripes or the emblems, not both.
