1975-1983 Zebra Putter - The Vintage Golfer

The Zebra came out in about 1976 when I was 14. I sooo wanted one but couldn't afford it. Took up golf again about a year ago and saw one on ebay. £25 got me one in good condition. It's the one with the white centre line. I love it!

I just bought 2 (one black, one grey) off eBay from a guy that had them BRAND NEW (with striped head cover), still in the wrappers, from 1995. They putt awesome.

Glad to know I can fix the clank. I have one in really nice condition but I stopped using it because of the clank.

In my Facebook feed I kept getting these ads for the modern incarnation of the Zebra putter. At over $200 I thought that was a but much, so I found an older model on eBay for $13.00, so I figured why not and went ahead and bought it. It came in yesterday and it was in very good shape. The grip has to go, it's deteriorating, but that's no big deal. The sole is slightly pitted, but again no biggie. Overall the head and shaft are both in good shape, it's dead easy to aim, and it putts well in my living room. Can't wait to try it on the greens next summer.

TGIF!!! Wow! Another blast from the past. When that putter first came out it was so weird looking but so cool. Wish I still had mine now. The treasures that have come and gone over the years.........sigh....................Thanks again Mr. Vintage Golfer!

I found one at a goodwill in Phoenix...paid 3 dollars and I love the feel and straight drawback!!

I’ve one exactly like that (bought 1994) but the head is in much better condition. It’s been regripped with a full cord Zebra grip. Now switched over to Odyssey 2 ball putters. Same look and feel though.

I got a white and a red one. Total cost was 5 bucks at Goodwill. Ugly as heck but fun to put with.

Own several zebras, all modified. 39 inches long with a 17 inch grip and weighted the head with oversized washers and epoxied the cavity. Solid feel easy to align and no thingy motion during a stroke. Best kept secret in putters. My pro hates me....

I have one and never liked the noise it makes always though the base plate or screws were causing it time to get it out of the garage open it fix it and give it a go .great video keep it up

Well I am definitely interested in what you trying to say. Thanks for the video. 1. I'm in the Philippines. 2. I'm going to play senior tour in less than 3 yrs. 3. I need THAT putter!!!! 4. I am unorthodox. 5. I'm "familiar " with Golf for 35yrs+ 6. I believe in.... Using 3 putters in bag because 50% of the shots on your scorecard were played with THE PUTTER. Let me know?

The first putter I bought for myself was a Zebra and I loved it! That is until I 8 putted a green. :(, But that wasn’t the putters fault, that was the fault of the stupid greens keeper and his stupid hole placement! 🤣 BTW, are you sure about the ‘83 end date? I bought a new one in the earlier ‘90’s.

Do not underestimate Ram product ! I bought a cheap set and bag whilst away on holiday Fabulous don't get screwed by all the BS. The woods in this set are great the driver is LONG and I own all the top stuff , so I still have em but I can play so maybe that counts too !
