I sent my CB350 cam to Webb Racing Cams when it was worn. They hardweld and remachine them. I had a custom grind done to it, and it screams now.

I rescued a CB200 from a hideous existence as a field bike. It had finally expired after the camchain and tensioner had given up the ghost. The camchain then started wearing channels in the front & back of the camchain tunnel. The rings, pistons & barrels were all shot too. I replaced the barrels, got some 2nd hand ones, had them rebored to suit new oversized pistons, valves re-ground, new camchain & tensioners, back together and away it went! It even passed its’ MOT first time, too. A great little bike to ride!

I had a friend in high school that had one of these. He hated it for some reason. He was a smoker, and each morning before he left for school he’d sit on it and warm it up while he smoked a cigarette… with the throttle to the stop. I presume he was trying to blow it up but I don’t think it ever happened 😄 Tough little engines!

I had a CB200 from new, and did 51,000 miles in 3 years. A big-end went at 32,000 and I needed a new crankshaft assembly. My fault though - I was 17/18 and had no mechanical sympathy, so it got thrashed mercilessly everywhere (including from cold). My trip to work was mainly motorway, so it spent a fair bit of its life with the throttle against the stop (hovering between 70 & just over 80, depending on conditions). It did pretty well considering the abuse, and I've been a lot more careful since!

Never mind the knackered clapped out 1975 CB 200.... I tune in purely for the seemingly 1975 "wrench monkey" - everytime you swing off a wrench "The Bearded Mechanic" grows a new chin hair out of jealousy of improvisation! 😂 Seriously though - don't take that as disrespect! merely some twisted British humour - I've got maximum respect for you, like I've mentioned previously several times on the rusted Kwaka videos, you re-inspired me to get my rotting naked Deauville in my yard back up, running and ripping bends! With minimal costs... 😁😁😊😊 Forever thankful for your inspiration brother - even if my comments occasionally seem "a bit off".... In true British fashion I feel I've got so so much of a higher level of respect for you that I can also absolutely "rip on you" in the best of Red, White and Blue fashion.... Whilst still remaining humble.... {oh 5417.... R/W/B.. Isn't that your flag too? 😂😉😉😂🤣🤣🤣}

Phone pics have been such a help to my fading memory. Sometimes I use video to follow whole wires from end to end. I gotta get out there and warm up my little garage and start looking again into a CM200 twin kickstart reassembly. I think there’s some dots stamped into two cogs that I’m not aligning correctly. It wouldn’t go in a few weeks ago after I took off all the aluminum engine cases for high shine polishing. I got flustered and walked away. Now it’s icy and freezing here in MD and I wish I lived in Florida so I could go on a wam ride after hopefully putting it back together. It is looking so nice. I wish we could share pictures in these comments. I’d like your take on the bike.

Make sure the centrifugal oil filter is clean and if the feed line through the clutch cover isn’t blocked. I have seen this a few times, where a guy puts on the side cover smears it with RTv and blocks the oil feed to the head. Which ruins the bearing and cam shaft. It’s a small hole through the gasket.

Another great video mate. Good cb200 cams are getting hard to find. I have 4 engines and 3 of them had the same cam/bearing wear. A common fix is machining the bearing area to fit a brass sleeve and machining the worn cam to suit. Also needle roller bearings can be used but then you open up a new set of problems with blowing out the oil seals.

Thre an oil feed across the back for the left cam bearing. Crap can pile up at th end causing oil starvation to left cam bearing. On 350 engine the clutch case gasket would break off and pile up at left end of oil way

I have a low mileage CB200t in excellent condition I could sell you. Rare Cable Disk brake. red repaint. Someone ran that bike out of oil. It got so hot the valve seized and smoked the piston. Hope the rod survived. Sadly that bike isnt worth the repair bill. I have never had a valid offer for mine in over 10 years
