Robbed against the Raiders in 1976. Oh well! Tuck Rule! Tuck Rule! Chuck Fairbanks was such a jerk in 1978. Colorado Buffalos really went places. Russ Francis who was just as good as Dave Casper finally got a Superbowl ring with the 49ers 1984. 8 yrs late. Francis was always one of Joe Montana,s favorite targets.

You are so right!! All those people who complain about the tuck rule are oblivious to the roughing the passer call. imagine roughing the passer in the 70's, you had to kill someone back then! I used to love what Howard Cosell called Russ Francis back then, "the all world tight end"! Imagine what his numbers would be today??

It is one of those seasons that sticks out to me because NE did something similar to what Cincy performed in 2021. A horrible call enabled Oakland to slip by NE in a season where NE had the momentum to potentially beat Pittsburgh and advance to SB XI.
