This is the nicest of the post-72 Cutlass’ imo. Beautiful lines and elegant grille with the square headlights that had recently had it’s ban lifted in the U.S.

Great Video. I own the car and a friend of mine found this video on KZbin. Very nice and thanks for posting. I bought the exact same car in late 76 when I graduated high school. I saw this one on eBay 5 years ago and had to buy it. You don’t see many around as I guess they are not that collectible but they did make over 634,000 Cutlass’s in 77.

Ill catch you when the season starts again in April. I like this car, not because it is a killer Cutlass but because that interior was also offered in the Toronado. It looks so luscious. I had the chance to buy a Cutlass a few weeks ago but it lacked that great interior and the 403.

This thing nowadays you can basically on smog those bad boys just like you could with the 455 trans Am and really unleash the power. Special when you get them over 25 years old slap some antique plates on them they can't get ya Supremes t-tops 76 and 77 they were just one good-looking ride. Definitely in the my dream garage if I ever win the lottery there's definitely going to be one of those desmogged just for

Or...leave California. This is a New York car so all you need in most instances is to find the pre-1972 components for the same engine, in this case, this is an Olds 350, and you can get the 1971 power output or you can also drop sonething modern like a 4.8/5.3LS or a Vortec 350.

A friend of my parents drove a Tornado. I think it was a 1975 or slightly newer. It had rectangular headlights. The car was beige and I think it had this same style and color interior! I rode in the car once and it seemed to be like a corduroy fabric. But that was 40+ years ago, and sometimes my recall of such things can be a bit flawed!

@@CH67guy1 the difference in the early 50s Olds is mere chrome trim placement and grille work. The car I recall is a 54 98 Holiday. My father worked for years at a Cadillac/Oldsmobile dealership prior to opening up his own shop in the early 80's. I started working at the shop when I was a teenager and worked on a bunch of those cars (many of his customers from the dealership switched to his shop when they found out where he was at). That must be a very rare A body. Of all the cutlasses I saw pass through the shop, I never saw one with a 403 in it. I wonder which transmission is in it. The typical trans was the Turbo Hydromatic 350. I suspect that has the TH400 in it because that was the only trans that came in the Tornado.
@GalaxieMarauder8 ай бұрын
The Toronado didnt have a TH400. It had the THM425(because the Toronado was front wheel drive). The 403 would have been mated to the Turbo 400 as that was the exact same package for the 1977 Olds 98 and 88.
@christopherhylton84628 ай бұрын
@@GalaxieMarauder I was mistaken, I totally forgot about the TH425. Not a lot of Toros came through the shop I guess because they were a low production number car for GM. I was a big fan of the 66 Toros. Probably the most beautiful car to ever be produced in Detroit, a close second being the 69 Eldorado.
